So basically Gaara is the way he is because he killed his best friend, who happened to be his uncle, who actually hated him and tried to kill him because his sister, Gaara's mother, died when Shukaku was fused into Gaara in the womb. Since that, he has systematically been hunted down for his entire life since even though he's a ninja of the village that's trying to kill him. Insomnia is the least of his problems.

Ive come to the conclusion that Sasuke is weak. Not weak meaning physically, but mentally he is weak. If Naruto or any character went to Sasuke and started abusing him verbally about his choices or mentioning itachi and why sasuke is trying to kill konoha even though itachi did what he did, Sasuke would stop and start balling his eyes out and then run in screaming with his chidori lol

It's natural for his feelings of vengeance to be that strong, and reasonable that he won't allow himself to form an attachment to anyone, not even with the friends he had in Konoha, b/c he had once had a deep bond with Itachi, only to be hurt by it in the end. All that caused him to make some wrong choices, which, I think, is understandable.

It's easier to accept friendship if you've never had it but longed for it, than it is to know love (from parents, siblings and friends) and having lost that all to betrayal.

I think Sasuke is a deeper character than people give him credit for.
