That Lens is NO Good regardless of what name is on it. That Lens is 100% DEFECTIVE GARBAGE, I NEVER saw or heard Worse!!!! Give me the Film Lenses instead of that JUNK Lens!!!!

sounds bad. i had a similar issue with a new canon L series i bought on eBay. this is why some people are willing to spend a little extra to buy from a store.... hope you got your refund

Listen, the noise is external and not related to your camera body.

This occur as result of a friction of the paint cout between the focus ring and the fixed ring. More reasonable this happens because of not enough gap planned between both rings at the engineering proccess.

Tought this should not be happened, the fix is VERY easy. Just use some of silicon oil on an ear stick, and apply it arround the contact area between two rings. It will stay quiet for a long time. Try it.

Im getting the same sound out of my 50mm 1.4. It started a few days ago and is fairly worrying. I still have a warranty and I'll be sending it back for sure. Kind of depressing thoug h as I'll be without it for some time :(

That money BELONGS to you, (at least is advertised) that with the Sigma 30mm f/ 1.4 you get a 4 year warranty..

i'm not pleased with the focus sound on mine, but it's not as bad as yours. other than that, great lens.

My sigma 30/1.4 makes similar noise during MF when turning focus ring clockwise, but not as loud.

That sound goes away in AF operation, so it's no big deal. An awesome lens nonetheless.

yeah sigma is well known to have lots of bad copies of their lenses.

Wow, that sucks. I have the exact same lens, and luckily mine works just fine, and is very quiet. Apparently the production quality on different Sigma lenses vary quite a bit, which is a shame.

There are a lot of terrible sellers in eBay, and if the deal is too good to be true, most of the time something is wrong with the item.

I found a couple of things to buy on eBay related to photography but now I'm convinced I shouldn't buy something as there is no support, you've got no real "contact information" or address. And the few dollars you pay for a well-established decent and serious shop worth it. (even big online shops)
