You know what's funny, as an atheist I have fought against many a christian for years but you are one of the very few, the very few, that I support. You don't wish to truly impose, actually question and challenge and think of what you are and what you are doing. I could see you as an atheist but the way you are is all well and fine. QuestionChrist: You say that the only way to 'salvation' is through Christ. What exactly does salvation mean to you? As an Atheists, I often here Christians say that I need to be saved, but I'm not sure what I need saving from. Is it hell, or is there something else? Also, you say that heaven and hell exist even if we don't believe in them. That seems a strange thing to say. I could say they don't exist even if Christians say they do - the statement would be just as valid.

You know, for everyone who wants to "rationalize" their belief "systems", their "personal faith", or any other religious position, you MUST admit.

Pete, I appreciate your honesty. Thank you. I agree that faith is something that should be tested and questions of one's own faith should asked. I, as you know, question everything and yes, including, peoples motives. However, I think that people of other faiths are a bit on the defensive because Christianity has done so much damage to so many. I also think alot of people don't want to dialogue with Christians because it's an excersize in futility. You won't change my mind, I won't change yours.

Many Pagans are afraid of "coming out" because of Christians labeling them and literally in some parts of America they can destroy lives. That may not be you, but, as a Christian you know those types exist. If this were the late 1600's all of us Pagans would be rooted out and burned at the stake. So, much for loving your neighbor.

Christianity has destroyed thousands of cultures throughout the world and slaughtered millions of people in it's name. They have ostrisized millions of people who don't believe what they do. Forgive us for being a little leary of your intentions. When I was a devout Christian, I heard alot about how Christians are being persecuted by "the world". Cry about how unfair it is that Christian values are being lost. In reality, it's the Christians doing the persecuting. Hell, you can't even run for political office without some kind of Christian credentials. You have to understand our point of view. I question my faith, and will defend it if need be, the point is, it's deeply personal to me and I don't need to prove my faith to anyone.

How can an omnipotent being commit an act of sacrifice? Sacrifice by definition entails a loss. If Christ resurrected and rose into heaven, how was it even a sacrifice at all? What did God lose?

How do you rationalize the age of the Earth when compared with what we know about geology and chemistry and physics when compared to what the bible says?

Though the bible talks about "days", I believe that it is quite possible that these days are larger blocks of time. Nowhere does it say it is a 24 hour period. Some people believe that it was actual 24 hour periods, but regardless, it is the fact that God DID create the world is what is most important. Thanks for your question!

The Earth formed through natural processes, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and other heavy metals combined over the course of several million millennia, the chemical bonds formed a mass, mass possesses gravity, which attracts more mass. eventually the Earth and all the planets (countless trillions of them) were formed.

The very blood that pumps through your veins is witness to these events. The Iron in your body was created deep in the hearts of stars through nuclear fusion.

So again, you want me to believe that the iron in my body comes from stars in the universe and by whatever means it was transferred ontp the earth and then when I was formed from some random process, the iron was transferred again in my body? This is why I find it interesting how insistent people are that God couldn't have created the universe, but yet they will hold onto a theory that is harder to believe in than the possibility that a creator made both the star and people.

Now that is another matter entirely, and the answer is much easier: I don't know what was before the big bang and neither do you. The difference is that I'll wait to find out. I have no need to jump to conclusions. However there are several hypothesis about that as well.

'm sorry, I don't think I completely ignored your question. I base my belief in God on the teachings of the bible. But even without the bible, I believe that you can't have everything that exists in all it's complexity, and all it's beauty without a designer. So belief in God is through an intellectual design theory, and I figured out who God was through the teachings of Jesus. Sorry if I seemed evasive! God Bless!

Meloco, he didn't mean it as a straw man attack. His assumption that you were a Christian was reasonable. Christians may have to be more understanding of us, but Wiccans and Pagans (and even Christians who believe differently from other Christians - I don't know what religion you are, you don't list it on your Youtube profile) also have to be more patient with those Christians who are actually trying to understand.
