  • he mike rowe likes fords

  • If he's willing to do half these jobs, you KNOW he eats pussy. :P

  • The mucker is from the 40's and was replaced by more safe and effective methods in most mines in the 70's. Strange they are still using it..

  • @fredrik999z

up here in Canada we still use the original mucking machine system in most small scale mining jobs as most larger modern muckers can t get in to the tiny ore workings

  • when ur running amok.....er

  • they should have them in minecraft :P

  • @Skatesfy haha bet they will soon! seen the mods for waterwheels?

  • @manofgod30 duh......

  • I run amok ... what about it?

  • beneATH

  • its funny how you can skip 30 second ads but not the 1 minute long :/

  • This is my husband's cousin's coal mine and yes they really talk like that.

  • he in cap breton your compinsated for black lung my dad worked in the mines 38 years and loved every minute of it

  • my dad works there

  • 0;13 lol

  • lol roof bolting = most dangerous... i run a dual headed fletcher stick bolter in pa's swickley seam... ive never seen a mucker..thats what scoupes are for. lol

16 ft cable bolts + 8ft super twist bolts..run 300ft per day with a half face miner and pin 310+ bolts per shift... i agree with smellis4 i work on the return side of the section.. air has to be 30,000 cfm in pa across the last open.. but its full dust..

  • @haterseg scoupes you mean , like buldozers or showels...thx. p.s. english not my first language.,

  • @haterseg

your referring to scopes meaning scoop tram or underground loader ? because there still quite common in small scale tunnel mines

  • ''It looks like it chewed its way right out of hell!'' LOL

  • 0:13 LOL

  • As far as wearing a dust mask, i work on a super section with joy 15-14 miners and narco 21 buggys. We run on average 450-500 foot a day, anyone who knows anything about mining our air is no where near right. So all i am saying is if you want to talk about dust take a look at a miner section not a conventional section.

  • @Smellis4 isnt there masks or something that you can where so your lungs dont go bad?

  • you gotta be kidding me this is not hardworking coalminers come to a consol energy mine it will take days to come clean

  • lol season 2, its on season 7 now haha

  • "Dont do that.."

    "Why.."

Cuz we'll be taking you to emergency room to get your jaw stiched back on..

    *gulp*.... alright...

    lol

  • steve roflmao

  • Watched this today in tech class.

  • who makes this thing lucifer? Beelzebul? LOL....

  • @petermiless yourmom

  • this job gona kill ur lungs..

  • i do not believe an Irish is doing this job, because his ascent is not German.

  • that is one small mucker...go see a real mine man..

  • true

  • i think this is the most dangerous job, not only can u explode urself, get trapped or lost, mountain can crumble down, toxic gas but also u can get ran over by the massive wagon

  • or your jaw ripped off XD

  • lol, he wasn't trying to tear his face off he was just trying to give him a shave... lol

  • dont lean front LOL i was like what the hell did he just say

  • Mother mucker! :P

  • a coal mother at that

  • His name is Steve Roflmao? ... I soo want that name.

  • 1:30 lol

  • fothermucker

  • This guy is funny =]]]

  • 0:12 rofl! xD

  • Breathing in coal dust is extremely bad. I would never be a coal miner/mucker or w/e : ).

  • It can't be good for your ears either. The loud sounds of the dynamite and the mucker are channelled within the tunnels, which can permanently damage your ears.

  • at 4:00

I thought he broke the muckerfother lol

  • wow you people are deaf... his name sounds nothing like ROFLMAO.. it sounds like steve rothenel

  • Definitly not an Irish accent.

  • name is spelled Rothermel. we dont bolt the roof or ribs because we are in some of the hardest rock in the world. we dont use cutters in the coal. drill and blast is the only way that works on our scale. keep in mind that only 5 persons underground at this mine. we dont where dust masks but we use one hell of a lot of water on the rock

  • keep up the good work.

  • wow that guy really doesnt enjoy his job haha

  • wow, why are they still doing it this way? are they even bolting the roof?

  • 0:14 lmfao!

  • hahahahahahaha stevel rofllmao

  • yay, he's part german :) gotta look up ROFLMAO in the phone book & find some relatives xD

  • I used to be coal miner in Bakersfield CA & Virginia (hard work). :)

  • Was the guys name

    Steve ROFLMAO?

  • lmao it sounds like it huh.

  • HHAHAHAHA Steve ROFLMAO! It sure does sound like that.

  • hahahha

  • see this is the kinda job i'd so apply for

  • id like to see the mucker brand spanking new

  • coal fucker

  • Lame

  • I wonder how on earth they repair this thing when it breaks down...

  • Runamucker. lol

  • I lived pretty much around the corner from this coal mine. The water tastes like coal. The sides of the road has coal. I think my blood has coal in it. Hell, I was born in Coaldale.

Look into taking a coal mine tour in Ashland, PA. You can take a mine car ride into a mine to learn how mining was done.

  • I went to Centralia Pa i live in Lancaster and i heard the coal fire will reach Ashland dont know how long it will take tho

  • Wtf... don't these guys get some sort of dust mask? Thats ridiculous.

  • They can wear them if they want but most choose not to because it is hard to breathe with them on.

  • Wow, hows that for irony huh. It'll be a lot harder to breathe with 20% lung capacity a few years later.

  • Wow

  • I have ran a mucker before, one that you sit on, this looks like a mucker that a tard could run. For the record yes they do mine like this, shaft/slope.

  • Poor safety standards by the looks of it

  • i live in NE pa and the mine was closed by MSHA for a while but its backopen now and its only done by machines in bituminous coal mines where the pitch of the coal is flat...where as a anthercite coal mine its at very steep angles thats why they have to climb and let the coal slide down the chute into the car

  • they dont even mine coal like this anymore its all done my machine, like a miner takes place of the explosives.

  • I'm sure it's still hard work, maybe not as, but still as dangerous. You would think they would have mask or somthing on their face.

  • Good 'ol black lung.

  • I heard the feds shut this mine down, such a shame these guys are just trying to earn a living.
