  • dumbest thing ive seen in my life

  • lots of WAYS PEOPLE CAN HATE AUSTIN COLLIE!!!!!

  • It was a little wrist flick, Locker's went a good 25 feet in the air. Husky fans have always, and will always, be sore losers. All I've ever heard from them is excuses. Go Cougs! (WSU that is.)

  • thats shit , that shouldn't even be concidered a celly ..this is bullshit . if that should be flagged Ochocinco should be suspended ..and nobody wants that , he makes watching Cincintatti worth while : )

  • I can't believe this is still getting comments. This video was made because UW fans were upset that Collie didn't get flagged for this. The video clearly shows that Collie should NOT have been flagged, which is why "spikes" is in air quotes in the title. Maybe I could have been more clear.

  • Washington, if you intend to win a game against BYU, you' d better show up on the field with more than this excuse.

  • Wow college football is getting ridiculous

  • GO COLTS COLLIE BACK FOR THE BIG GAME AGAINST THE JAGS WOOT!

  • Wow he spiked that ball HARD!.......Retards

  • thats no big deal

  • I take it by the all the comments here that I am missing something. Is there some reason why it would be a bad thing if he did spike the ball in the endzone? I don't watch college football, but I am guessing there is some sort of a rule that you can't spike the ball after a TD.

  • LIES! I watched this video to see a spike. Instead I got him laying it down between his legs. False advertisement.

  • Are you kidding!!! He deserved an ejection and a suspension of AT LEAST four weeks!!!!

  • no way. not a spike. no flag

  • collies wasnt even really a spike

  • that play was as deserving of a flag as Lockers was... because neither should be flagged.

  • thats not a spike!!!! Thats called tossing the ball on the ground!

  • BYU is so classy, right?

  • another reason to hate BYU

  • i dont get it...

  • he dropped the ball........ how the hell is that a spike????

  • he dropped the ball like youre taught to do stop bullshittin

  • I think that since he did it so casually there's no way they can call that. It was so close to just dropping it on the ground that calling it would NOT be "classy" <-- theutubeshittalker

  • It would have been classier if Austin Collie had given the ball to the ref, after scoring his TD, that's basically the standard now-a-days.

  • I think it wasnt a spike he obviously thew the ball in celebration u can watch TO do it all the time

  • he didnt spike it! he dropped it! you have to drop the ball at some point!

  • no he shouldnt of been flagged cause thats what everybody does when they get a touchdown

  • this video is a joke right? nobody seriously thinks he spiked the ball there do they? go watch a QB spike the ball to stop the clock. If someone did what is shown in this video in an attempt to stop the clock, it would be ruled a fumble.

  • yes, it is a joke. lots of UW fans brought up this clip to complain that BYU got away with one while Locker's penalty was unfair. It will be a great game in Provo next year!

  • This is why Washington Football sucks:)

  • You've got to be kidding me. Collie basically dropping the ball and Locker chucking it way up in the air is completely different. And Locker throwing the ball up in the air DIDN'T cost them the game. The blocked kick did. Freaking baby Huskie fans. No wonder they backed out of future games with BYU after they come to Provo in 2010. They're scared.

  • Austin collie is beast he is a great rookie how can people hate collie what has he done.

  • @Momamia77 nobody hates collie

  • ha collie is so amazing! i wouldnt care if it was a spike! it was an amazing catch and he should be able to celebrate

  • that is perfectly leagle i dont get why they made such a big deal out of that

  • Hell no!

  • He basically flicked the ball to the ground and it just so happened to go thru his legs...and immediately he's showing off or taunting...what BS!

To the same degree, what Locker did should by no means be a penalty, it's not like he punted the damn ball into the stadium...let the guys play some...that was a huge play in a close game, they shouldn't have been penalized for that...he wasn't taunting and I don't blame him one bit.

REF'S BLOW!!! LET THE KIDS PLAY!!!

  • For all you morons that didn't catch the sarcasm in the video, it's clear that Collie didn't spike the ball. This video was made in response to some fan message board comments crying about Collie and how he seemed to "spike" the ball in the endzone.

  • I live in the U District and, you guys are really searching for video time. Get better defense and a QB who has some aim. Go COLTS, Go Boilermakers.

  • Ballin! GO COLTS!

  • i say he just drop it real smooth between his legs... go colts

  • /watch?v=ye-Pdlk-kpU

    austin collie senior highlights

  • NO NOT A FLAG!

  • The rule states that you are either to give the ball to the ref or drop it. If he had tossed it into the air, he would risk a flag. In other words: No, he should not be flagged.

That said, calling unsportsmanlike on a final play like that is pretty weak. If it makes Washington feel better, we ended up getting embarrassed at the Las Vegas bowl by a piss-poor PAC10 team.

Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chameleon...

Hey Darth Servo, how were my punctuation and grammar?

  • really dude watch the mouth.

  • Why should he? No one has ever given any kind of reasonable explanation why "profanity" is bad.

  • No, he shouldn't of been flagged.

  • i agree

  • In the end it doesn't matter since "The Quest" ultimately failed.

My kid's teacher tried to give him a "hall pass" the other day but it was intercepted.

  • real mature i bet u ute fans pride urself on your inmatureness!

  • No, I pride my self on being able to spell "immature" properly.

  • Locker got into trouble for throwing in the Air not for spiking and I think Collie cut it close because you are supposed to give or atleast try to give the ball to the ref after you score, but shoot in the East coast you can get away with fanciness like that, I have a picture in my mind of a Miami WR doing that for some reason.. I think the ref's usually warn guys for stuff like that though dude. I think Locker must have thrown it further than you could tell cuz somebudy chucked it bak 2 him!!!

  • Wow thats not even a spike at all. Everyone needs to stop crying about this game what is done is done.

Washington gets another chance in 2011 I think.

  • JAKE LOCKER IS A BEAST!

  • Can you even call that a spike?

If it was a basketball it would have been a dribble between the legs at best.

I'm a BYU fan and I was disappointed when they made that call on Jake Locker... But seriously? Would it have made ANY difference in the overall season of the Huskies?

Not to bash the Huskies because Jake Locker is a true stud and a great quarterback, but one more win wouldn't have done a thing for their season.

  • I just don't get how you war kitten fans can give us Utes crap about barely beating a bad Michigan team when you had a last second win over the winless Wahsington team. On another note I don't think that deserved a flag. To those pointing at stats, they don't matter. Your stats were better then Utah's yet you lost by 24 (ha ha) your stats were better then ASU's and you lost there too (how do you lose to ASU) The only reason Collie looks good is because he's the only one maxie the pad passes to

  • I can name probably close to a billion ute fans that give crap to byu fans to probably two byu fans gicving utes crap and ya u are probably the most immature ute fan ive ever heard and that's saying something!

  • Of course you can, because you turn a blind eye to 99% of the crap from zoobs, given you are one yourself.

  • austen collie is #1 go byu

  • wow. he was dropping it. nice try though man. get your eyes checked. "spiking" would be noticeable

  • amen brother o sorry that's a term you ute fans wouldn't understand it means i agree :)

  • Someone who doesn't even know proper capitalization and punctuation rules doesn't get to criticize others for supposedly not knowing the meaning of words.

  • because the rule that got Locker in trouble was that he didn't either leave the ball at the dead spot or return it to the official. I know, dumb rule.

  • Why the heck would he get flagged for that? Go Austin Collie Go BYU!!!

  • lebronj1, why are you hating on Austin Collie? Austin is a genuine good guy. Austin currently leads college football in receiving yards, and 5th in TD's. He'll prob be a 2nd round draft pick in the NFL. Plus, he's one of the top 3 athletes out of my HS along with Ryan Anderson (2007 Pac 10 leading scorer) now an NBA Rookie with NJ Nets, and Alex Kosinski, (1,600-meter outdoor record in 4 minutes, 38.15 seconds) at Oregon.

  • he dropped it and did not spike it

  • 1:50 luck happens

Hope its a loss 22 Nov

  • I wish they lost that one i say no flag and i like utah

  • I agree. After looking at what he did, he totally was dropping the ball on the ground. No flag.

  • byu got that he wasnt spiking it he was dropping it in the endzone its legal

  • Listen up people... THE CALL DIDN'T "COST THEM THE GAME". THEY WERE GOING FOR A TIE!!! It cost them a chance to tie the game, and then subsequently lose in overtime. I mean, when is UW going to outscore BYU on straight sets. The game was only close cause byu fumbled in the endzone. Stop kidding yourselves people, and look at the stats instead of the final 15 seconds.

  • how do you know what could have happened? is there a 0% chance that byu could fumble again? "statistically," both byu and washington scored one touchdown each quarter.. either way, it was just a bad way to end such a good game..

  • You must not have watched the game junmuta. Washington in NO WAY deserved to win that game. Who knows what would have happened in OT? Tell me honestly though, do you think that Washington could really outscore BYU in overtime? Seriously, I can't remember a BYU punt in the fourth quarter... They were rolling, and... they still are.

  • okay.. it's not always about who "deserves" to win.. i'm not trying to say washington is better than byu by any means. i know byu is better. what i am saying is that statistics doesn't always determine the outcome.

look, for example, at the florida-ole miss game of this past week- florida had 319 passing yards against ole miss' 185 yards, but ole miss stil won. ..right?

  • yeah, i hear ya. you are right in the sense that anything can happen. Example, Unga fumbles on the 1 into the endzone. I can't and won't argue that. I just get pissed that all these media types felt like byu robbed washington of the game, as if it was theirs to take. It was anybody's game, if anything. And my gut goes to BYU winning the game in the endzone. Locker was unstoppable, but they did miss a bunch of holding calls to free him up. The cougs were more than unstoppable in the 4th.

  • i meant to say winning the game in overtime...

  • how about the unbelievable hold a few plays before locker scored, it was a 3rd and long and would have been an easy sack but byu's dlinemen got held, for sure would have ended the game, but nobody is talking about that

  • The call on Locker didn't cost UW the game. The line not blocking for the kicker cost them the game. Whether shorter or farther... you gotta be able to get the PAT off.. the line failed UW that game, and that's what cost them the game... now get over it.

  • that is not spike he puts the ball down EXACTLY like the rules say to

  • Looks like he drops it through his legs as he's running. A spike is slamming it to the turf. Dunno really. Who cares. BYU's kicker would have made a 35 yard field goal if he had to. Unlike the UW line, our guys can actually put up a front.
