She's got a great voice. And kudos to her for managing to make lyrics about stalking, sound romantic. I personally don't understand how anyone can confuse this song to a romantic love song in the first place. Or if this indeed IS meant as such, then The Police has the creepiest idea of romance I've evr known.

@LindsayLoving Yeah and I did my reseach after posting that comment and found out that Sting's indeed said he didn't mean it as a positive love song and was surpised how dark it turned out and thinks he was subconsciously thinking of control, surveillance and Big Brother from 1984. Resulting in this originally meant exactly what it sounds to all those who actually listen to the lyrics; extreme case of obsession and stalking. :P

it's not about stalking, it's about broken up and broken hearts...it's just an expression towards somebody.  It's not about literally stalking somebody, get with the idea of the song.

When I was a kid, every time I heard the original The Police version of the song, I was unsettled even though I had no idea what thelyrics were about, I mean I wasn't old enough to draw those conclusions. That goes saying these lyrics are indeed very sinister. As a teen I connected the lyrics to stalking, and I wasn't surprised at all when as an adult when I learned that this indeed is a song that was written in a stalky state of mind.

yeah but Im sure he doesn't go around stalking her like parking his car behind the bushes just to look at her haha. It's just about still having strong emotions/feelings for somebody even after you've broken up with them, it's something pretty normal and natural.

i am really glad they made a studio version of this with her. I think people were too harsh on her at the live performance. Sure she messed up the piano but the competition is about her voice not how well she plays her instrument each show. And when she messed up on the piano her voice stilled sounded amazing

She's a great singer. She gets nervous and it makes her mess up, but the studio versions prove that she is an AMAZING singer. She deserved to go farther than Jason. He was good, but he only stayed longer than Brooke because of his fan base.

Syesha's good too, so people shouldn't be saying she's not as good as Brooke. I love Brookie, but Syesha is better. : (

I didn't like this studio version much, but I loved the ending. I've never heard Brookie sing high at all. : )

I don't hear anything special about Brooke's voice. Her voice was actually better when she was 16 years old. Her voice is so staccato now that she is older that it gives me a headache. I think this would be a voice of the 70s hippie songs.

Brooke sounds like every other "dime a dozen" good singer. Nothing special in her voice. She doesn't stand out as a "pop star"; however, she does seem like a wonderful, sweet person and I'm glad that many young people admire her.
