  • Gedda's high C here is simply orgasmic. It is the kind that makes you stop in your tracks -- I never thought that a man could make such a beautiful noise!

  • @GeddaGirl

bitch, your wrong ! slap !

  • lmfao. Orchestra fail. They went on while he was still holding that "C". I would have flown hot on someone after that performance. That... wow. Horrid orchestra, magnificent singer.

  • Have you heard Gigli's 1931 studio recording of this aria? It is far superior to any other version - the voice was perfection and the interpretation incomparably better than anything else on records.

  • @TheInquisitive4Ever lol fail.

  • Gedda was a GREAT and perhaps (and arguably) a GREAT of the GREATS. What saddens me is that he received much less attention than he deserved. He was an excellent tenor.

  • GermanOpera Singer, do you have any idea where and when took this performance place? Thank you.

  • Hello Herur22, this is from the Voice of Firestone TV-Show, aired Nov. 11th 1962. Gedda and Lisa della Casa performed Bohème-Finale Act I. It was made to advertised the studio recording with Freni/Schippers made the same year. Kind regards to you!

  • Muschnik, than this is the same as the video already posted here at You Tube?

  • No, this was a Met performance.

  • Thank you. Gedda is my favorite tenor of all. Besides the spectacular high C, notice the excellent diction and the fantastic diminuendo on the final note. An amazing tenor who could sing almost anything.

  • Quite a bit better than the live sound quality I'm used to. And high Cs don't get much better than that.

  • Lucky those who assisted at this performance!

    Thank you.
