that final 'C' is not divine, nor did he even hold it long enough; he broke it off to a different key before the traditional six second. this is just whatevers... i want my 4:09 seconds back.
eff man, i can't believe you use the word , 'divine' to describe his 'c.' dumbass wannabe opera singer.
poke poke poke. bitch slap!
awww man .. another no sleep nights where I go rambling in non-sense and hope for a better life. anyone like to pharoah sanders ? gud, i love his song 'harvest time
portamenti brutti, non sento la dolcezza .....e una notte di luna...e durante tutta l'aria Gedda canta a piena voce ...perche ?viva la...dolce illusione cioe la registrazione...
Gedda's high C here is simply orgasmic. It is the kind that makes you stop in your tracks -- I never thought that a man could make such a beautiful noise!
lmfao. Orchestra fail. They went on while he was still holding that "C". I would have flown hot on someone after that performance. That... wow. Horrid orchestra, magnificent singer.
Have you heard Gigli's 1931 studio recording of this aria? It is far superior to any other version - the voice was perfection and the interpretation incomparably better than anything else on records.
Gedda was a GREAT and perhaps (and arguably) a GREAT of the GREATS. What saddens me is that he received much less attention than he deserved. He was an excellent tenor.
Hello Herur22, this is from the Voice of Firestone TV-Show, aired Nov. 11th 1962. Gedda and Lisa della Casa performed Bohème-Finale Act I. It was made to advertised the studio recording with Freni/Schippers made the same year. Kind regards to you!
Thank you. Gedda is my favorite tenor of all. Besides the spectacular high C, notice the excellent diction and the fantastic diminuendo on the final note. An amazing tenor who could sing almost anything.
Behold, the great Nicolai Gedda! If I were at this concert, I would surely go crazy. Fantaaastic!

Quite a bit better than the live sound quality I'm used to. And high Cs don't get much better than that.

Lucky those who assisted at this performance!
Thank you.
