Why is this wrong? Why is it more wrong than physically restraining a dog while you spray it in a sink? Seriously, they don't like it, but most dogs don't like baths in general. THough I agree that something that worked as a bath instead of a shower would probably be less horrifying, though I don't know how that would work... just gently fill with water and sort of whirlpool the water around, drain, fill with rinse water, etc. If you were agroomer, this would be way better than being bitten.

If you got traumatized because of your big dislike for spiders. You are scared of them. Even when one touches you, you freak out and run all over the place. This is a metaphor of what the cat is doing.

When the cat was jumping and trying to get out from the washing machine, it was obviously SCARED of the water because cats have a strong dislike for water.

Fearing for your life is a SAYING, even though in most of its use, its meant literally.
If you got traumatized because of your big dislike for spiders. You are scared of them. Even when one touches you, you freak out and run all over the place. This is a metaphor of what the cat is doing.
Sure you'll be fine in the next couple days (a few therapy here and there), the cat also has time to recover.
Most likely the cat will still hate the owner for washing him for a couple days.
