  • This song I believe was taken from the John Denver album ' Live at the Sydney Opera House' originally only available in Australia. It was re-issued in 1999 by RCA with three bonus tracks. RCA 07863 67731-2 Thank you for the beautiful songs you left us John.

  • @MrHarry46 ???

  • A star streaks across a night sky filled with its uncounted brothers, touches a tired world, makes it stop and hold its breath...for an instant. Sing, Henry, sing.

  • I have a version very similar to this(it could possibly be the same one) on my ipod, and I absolutely love it when I turn it up as loud as tolerable and closing my eyes and picturing the different events in the song.

  • This is such a wonderfull great song. I'm so glad to be able to still see him alive.

  • Truth can't be hidden from any one for too long. There are many that want the US to stay away from other countries. That can't be done as the world has become smaller in this new instant information age. I believe all people seek prosperity and equal rights. Watch! You will see it start in Vietnam, China and other countries. So like it or not we are all responsible for how things work now and in the future. We must stop killing each other and start a universal respect. All life is sacred.

  • This is what life is.

This is the basic feeling of all men. John Denver captured the feeling. This is MY SONG..This is YOUR SONG...THIS IS ALL OF OUR SONG! This is the human race!

  • @SamUnfiltered2010 just wait till the TRILLIONAIRE bankers Agenda 21 gets done poisoning your air with chemtrails!..LOL

better get your tree hugging done now fella

  • I listen too this ..and too think this was 31 years ago...and what he spoke of before he intruduced the song....these are issues that WE ARE ALL dealing with now..and he was consience of it way back when....he WAS sooo many years ahead of his time. What he stood for, what he believed in,what he represented is only NOW being admired...i miss you John..i always will

  • Yes! And think of the lyrics to Rhymes and Reason. John was fond of saying "The old need to teach the young, but the young need to teach the old as well". Some people seem to think he foresaw sept. 11 but I believe he sings of the world crumbling from nuclear war and the children saving us with their innocense and trusting.

  • Archives, this is so wonderful.Would you consider posting "Come and Let Me Look in your Eyes"? My vhs copy is distorted on this wonderful song. I've ordered my copy,I just want to see it early!

  • I will try to get to this! I am on the road....

  • This song is really great, John performance here is fabulous, the whole band sounds great, is that Hal Blaine on the Drums?

  • Thanks for sharing! Endless starts and a 'favorite." Love the song, love John Denver and I really like what John said when introducing it. We are at a turning point, and it's more evident now to many than when sang this song, but he knew....

  • His songs are timeless. :D

  • i'm turning my calender to October NOW ! iI can't wait !!!! : )

  • I am so happy to see this . I love John Denver & all his views of life.

He was a great wonderful man.

With a gifted sweet voice for all to love & enjoy forever.

  • This concert never came out as an album. The album was from the Sydney Opera House..

  • I t almost could be the same concert. This is part of the same tour, and John's speech is verbatim the one he gives on the album. So it's easy to understand why Betty would think they're the same.

  • agree, but JD Achives only explanes what,s on the dvd;-) on the dvd are concerts never released before ;-) I can,t wait

  • I have a bootleg copy of this from many many years ago and it seems like this was filmed a couple of weeks after the Sydney Opera House Concert.

  • Yup,if memory serves John did several sold out shows at the Opera House, and then the Sydney Showground was added to fit the huge demand.

Thankfully,we have a lot more decent venues now,(eg Sydney and Brisbane Entertainment Centres)but back then it was sport arenas or nothing for large rock tours.

  • @JohnDenverArchives The album was and I think still is available I have two versions with the older version having less songs. It was re released some years ago remastered and more complete.

  • I listen to the album of this concert all the time. I'm so glad to see it here. Thanks so much.

  • Could there be anything more inspiring? This is one of my very favorite John Denver songs. Thanks for sharing!

  • I just love this concert. JD at his absolute best! I am really looking forward to the boxset.

    Thanks for posting this clip.
