brilliant and inspiring film, reminiscent of friends i had in high school... bored, yet brilliant and talented nerds expressing themselves for the sake of expression! i fear that the overindustrialization and commercialization of art and music, and the new ease of technologies' ability to instantize EVERYTHING has stunted the creativity of TODAY's youth by smouldering the angst-driven rebellious courage that spawns revolution.
This movie takes the viewer on a wonderful journey into a creative melting pot of people that become galvanized into life long friends.....I just love this movie!!!

Graffiti is painting on a canvas that does not belong to you. It is thievery, vandalism and it hurts the canvas owner deeply.
No matter what language gymnastics you play graffiti is a predatory act performed by people who know full well they are breaking the law who do not care one bit about the innocent people they hurt.
It may be necessary to use mental hospital lockups and therapy as appropriate since they cannot control their own impulses.
Sir, get a life. If you don't appreciate the art of graffiti, then paint over the walls yourself. Don't just attack the artists and say they are monsters that harm innocent people. We are killing no one with our spray paint.
I would also like to say that if you can show to me exactly how beautifying the community is deserving of being institutionalized--or for that matter, how painting a wall is stealing-- without using "language gymnastics", I will gladly secede you this point.
And how are we "molesting innocent people"? How can you even classify us with molesters and the other dirtbags of society..which is who you should be concerned with?
There are real crimes in this world, my friend. There are rapists, there are molesters, there are murderers...those are the ones who deserve prosecution most.
Not the artists.
And by the way, I'm still waiting for you to tell me how beautifying the community is deserving of institutionalization.

Hey dudes! Trailer is fantastic and I'm very sad that with us in Poland will not be able to view the entire movie - but I hope that one day you put this on DVD. Cheers, Marcin!
wow i'm so excited about this film- it's something people have been needing to see for a long time. I hope once it's released someone sees how great it is and it can show in more cities- My friends and I just missed it screening at the Maryland Film Fest because of exams so I'm determined to see it now!
The reason you haven't been able to find the film on dvd is because it's not out on dvd. We'll be invading theaters this August for a small theatrical run in select cities. We'll keep everyone posted once we have secured our release dates.
You'll have your chance to check the flick very very soon as North American premieres will be starting to drop.
And yes, many of the artists in the film are often misunderstood (as are lot's of others in general) but thats what helps give them their unique perspectives and allows them to create whatever they can.
Aw man so excited to see this. We need more celebrations of free form creative thought. The clip that starts the trailer says it perfectly. Thanks for pushing these things out.
Hey thanks for checking out our little trailer. We totally agree with you, the creative spirit in all of us should be exercised as often as possible. In fact we're working with many artists right now to lend their creativity in teaching kids how to make their own stuff. More to come on that soon!
Nike created a limited run of Blazers with the words "Beautiful Losers" on the back of the shoes to commemorate the traveling art show of the same name back in 2005. Our movie represents some of the artists featured in that show and subsequent book. Not sure what you mean in reference to OBEY and the Blazers though, sorry.
I really hope we can make it down to you. The director of the film, Aaron Rose, recently had a small screening at the Monster Children Gallery in Sydney. Hopefully the next time it will be a much larger event! You can also check out our official website for more info. (click our link for the address)
Hopefully the film will be out in theaters across America this summer and out on dvd by the end of the year. You can check the Beautiful Losers site from our youtube channel for upcoming screenings and more info!
Seriously! Chris, along with his lovely wife Jo Jackson and our fearless director Aaron Rose, will be at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN this coming May 2nd to screen the film and give a talk as well. There will be 2 screenings that Friday, one at 7pm and the other at 9:30pm.
Please check the Walker Art Center site for more info.
It would be definitely cool if BL came to the UK as there are many fans of these artists as well as a very creative community out there, and not just in the art world. We're hoping for a summer release stateside so maybe the UK and the rest of Europe around the same time? Fingers crossed!
Hopefully the movie will be reaching you in North Carolina. Possibly as early as this summer even, that is if distribution deals get done in time. The DVD should be hitting by the end of the year though.
As of right now we're currently playing film festivals in North America. But hopefully you'll be seeing the movie as soon as this summer in a limited theatrical release. You can check our website for more info and updates. Thanks for your interest!
We would of course love to come visit our southern neighbors and screen the film anywhere we can in South America. We hope it will be possible in the near future. We shall keep you posted.
I love the guy that paints the square thing, because even he is like "I have no idea why I did this, I just did." That is the best kind of art in my eyes
That guy is Chris Johanson and he is quite a character in the film. His thoughts on his process and how he creates are very interesting to say the least. Thanks for checking us out!
Deals are currently being worked on to get the film distributed world wide as soon as this summer. Japan has already secured their premiere this summer with the US and the rest of the world hopefully coming soon! Either way, the DVD should be out by the end of the year.

i think your comment is a piece of shit
and i also think you dont consider yourself an artist in any way
but your wrong, you are an artist of pure shit
but thats my opinion and this is yours
i think this film looks interesting and people can be artistic in many forms and expressing that is the best part about being an artist

wow i'm so excited about this film- it's something people have been needing to see for a long time. I hope once it's released someone sees how great it is and it can show in more cities- My friends and I just missed it screening at the Maryland Film Fest because of exams so I'm determined to see it now!

noorskie 3 years ago
Thank you, we really appreciate it.
The reason you haven't been able to find the film on dvd is because it's not out on dvd. We'll be invading theaters this August for a small theatrical run in select cities. We'll keep everyone posted once we have secured our release dates.

i want to see this movie so bad.
so many good artists so many good, but sometimes not understood, things they do
k1ngofmiaea 3 years ago
You'll have your chance to check the flick very very soon as North American premieres will be starting to drop.
And yes, many of the artists in the film are often misunderstood (as are lot's of others in general) but thats what helps give them their unique perspectives and allows them to create whatever they can.
Thanks for supporting the scene!

Aw man so excited to see this. We need more celebrations of free form creative thought. The clip that starts the trailer says it perfectly. Thanks for pushing these things out.
DRKO666 3 years ago
Hey thanks for checking out our little trailer. We totally agree with you, the creative spirit in all of us should be exercised as often as possible. In fact we're working with many artists right now to lend their creativity in teaching kids how to make their own stuff. More to come on that soon!

OBEY and the beautiful loser blazers
is that what the blazers are based on??
isiahdegu 3 years ago
Nike created a limited run of Blazers with the words "Beautiful Losers" on the back of the shoes to commemorate the traveling art show of the same name back in 2005. Our movie represents some of the artists featured in that show and subsequent book. Not sure what you mean in reference to OBEY and the Blazers though, sorry.

Hopefully the next time it will be a much larger event! You can also check out our official website for more info. (click our link for the address)

will this me coming out in the uk? it would be so cool if it did!
mickymcnasty 3 years ago
It would be definitely cool if BL came to the UK as there are many fans of these artists as well as a very creative community out there, and not just in the art world. We're hoping for a summer release stateside so maybe the UK and the rest of Europe around the same time? Fingers crossed!

Hopefully the movie will be reaching you in North Carolina. Possibly as early as this summer even, that is if distribution deals get done in time. The DVD should be hitting by the end of the year though.

I love the guy that paints the square thing, because even he is like "I have no idea why I did this, I just did." That is the best kind of art in my eyes

That guy is Chris Johanson and he is quite a character in the film. His thoughts on his process and how he creates are very interesting to say the least. Thanks for checking us out!
beautifullosersfilm 3 years ago
I'd really like to see the movie someday. Have you though about putting it on DVD or something?
KTHarHar 3 years ago
Deals are currently being worked on to get the film distributed world wide as soon as this summer. Japan has already secured their premiere this summer with the US and the rest of the world hopefully coming soon! Either way, the DVD should be out by the end of the year.
