Yes, our silicone can be used to create a two part mold. Our silicones will not stick to anything but themselves. We would suggest Pattern Release 202 to release silicone
off of silicone in a two part mold application. We have additional videos on two part molds available on our website.
@honeygooyumy69. We would not recommend our materials for this application. Our materials are primarily used mold making and prototyping. Are products are not meant
Hi there ...I have an issue I hope you can help me with. I am trying to find a product which I can make a mould for a crossbow limb tip. I have upgraded to a more expensive string and shortened it by and inch to increase the power load. The issue is the cheap tips blow after so many shots because the expensive string is a lot thinner than the standard string and cuts through the item easier because of the increased pressure. I am looking to make a tip similar to the EXCALIBUR 'Magtip'..cheers
can you put a video for this question ( to answer ) i have multiple small pieces i want to make a holder for i can just stick it in the mold but can u show me how (in video) to do that?
I am currently trying to find a Flexible substance to make my own iPhone case. I was just curious, but exactly what should I get to make my project possible?
One mold can be created for several pieces1-1/2" in diameter. When creating your mold, you would want to space the pieces approximatley 1/2" apart. After you have created your mold, you can do several castings at on time.
The fast cast urethanes and some of the rigid urethane elastomers can be painted. The silicone should be degassed to rid of air bubbles. If you do not have a degassing unit, you could brush on a couple of layers of the silicone. This method would rid most of the air bubbles on the surface of your mold.
Also, can any of the urethane or resins be painted with acrylics? I'm looking for things that will end up pretty hard and not very elastic after it cures. And if I'm only using a very small amount for a mold that is only 1 inch in diameter and 1 inch tall, I don't need to degas anything, right?
Is this an efficient way to make mold for small things only half an inch tall and 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter? I make very small charms and novelties.
Great videos thanks for uploading them. I have a question I need to make a mold where I'll be pouring cement. Can I do the mold out of silicone and it wont sick to the silicone or is there other material that I should use? Thanks
@redbins000 Although silicone does not tend to stick to anything but itself, we would not recommend using the material on anything that you do not want to take a chance on damaging, as there is always a chance something may go wrong in creating the mold.
You would pour a little high. You would need to experiment on how much of a crown you would need. It is almost impossible to get a flat piece each and every time. You may need to machine flat after material has cured.
This is rely cool, but i want to like make a mould of a gun that ima build from just recycled stuff. Is it better to use this find of mold or would it be better for a vacum.

Can your products be used to make a two part mold or will the silicon stick to the other half during the second molding?

@MadK306 Depending on the type of mold you need to make, you can make a glove mold or a fiberglass layup. These videos are available on our website.

Because there may be some deflection, we would suggest using a rigid material when doing a fiberglass layup.

why not mix the product in the LARGER pail to begin with and then when pouring why not LOWER the cup so that it does not have as far to drop?

You're asking for bubbles the way you are pouring the stuff ... jeeeez louise.
