Faster computers equals more polygons. In five maybe ten years you'll start to see the CG world really come to life. Modelers, Texture Artists, Animators, etc. all have great imaginations. They're only limited by the technologies that drive them.

I totally agree with him. CG is HORRIBLE. I was one of the people who LOVED it when Tron and Last Starfighter first came out. I saw so much potential for it. But now that I've actually seen what they've done, I'm very disappointed. It's all so desaturated and bleeeeh. I don't know what it is, but something just isn't right!

Depends on the application. Jurassic Park still stands the test of time, but Polar Express will fade. Its always to remember a tool is a tool, not a magic wand. CG works if used as an accent to good writing and acting, not to be the showcase of the project.

Superman originally flew without CGI. Not perfect, but it felt real. Although the new Superman deserves SOME props for CGI, it still didnt feel real. Its a contrast and movement issue, along with matching film grain.
