  • You mock like that the one who made Lion King? Oh. I can't stand the shame...

  • If only we had a view from above...

  • I'm remixxing this for my midi class. This is cool man. Really helps.

  • Nice

  • Thanks, I was able to figure most of the song except for some parts by myself, and this part was one that i was not sure about how to play it, thanks a lot, great job 5/5

  • THS i found it!

  • wtf. why ?

  • ... so serious?

  • thank you.this was greaaaat.

  • you're welcome!

  • where is the piano?

  • sorry?

  • It's perhaps useful to point out that that is actually a Bb sixth chord.

  • Thank you for the suggestion!

  • High quality is better, I LOVE hands!!!!! OOOHHH YEAAAAAAH

  • nice!!! really good

  • The left hand... for more experienced... might also work with FADA in the right hand... which is wot the cello is doing in the background in alot of the pieces.

  • Thank you for the suggestion!

  • that was a good tutorial. but you think you can send me an easier version cause suck at playing the keyboard, and i really want to learn how to play this. I would really appreciate it. thanks.

  • I think that this tutorial is the easiest of the youtube network! :)

  • Then start now, my friend!

    I will wait your masterpiece.

  • completely fake

  • how do you make your piano sound like that my one is softer

  • its a keyboard

  • at one minute in, the lower octave chord sounds (tambre wise)just like in Metal Gear Solid when you first are going to fight Psycho Mantis

  • Really? Where I can find that piece?

  • I think I have the sountrack to the game, if i find it i'll post a video response

  • ok, thank you!

  • That statement about Zimmer's Entire musical backup really should be added to the nation's encyclopedias. :) Man lives by those notes. Kind of like James Horner. Great tutorial, by the way!

  • Thank you my friend! ^_^

  • HAHAHAHAHA

"like the ENTIRE REPERTORY of Hans Zimmer"

glad that i'm not the only one who thinks that (internet is full of zimmer-music-eating creatures =)

  • ^_^

  • Nice, easy to grasp tutorial. One critique, though; the famous Batman swell is just slightly off. Through some experimentation, I managed to duplicate the sound exactly. I don't know if the combination of notes works (as you played it) in the actual orchestral rendition, but I found that playing D, F works better.

  • Thank you for the comment and the suggestion!

  • tnx :)

  • hey jokerfans me and my friends have just started a fanclub of batman the dark knight and joker here on youtube groups please come and enjoy this group

    youtube(dot)com/group/jokersfanclub

dont really put (dot) just put ( . )

    ok.......well see u there :)

  • I like the Dark Knight theme much better then the batman begins

  • hey nice playing. loved the dark knight.

  • Not much of a tutorial. Sorry. It's not much of a piano peice and was not meant for piano. It's an orchestral peice. Yes, use the lower chords to simulate brass and cellos in the absence of these instruments, but .. remember that you're doing it because you don't have those instruments.

  • You are right my friend, trying to play the zimmer-howard batman theme on the piano it's a terribile thing, because the original is not a pianistic piece!

But i made a this tutorial for two reasons: for the people who asked me a batman begins theme tutorial, and the main reason, for make you understand how the theme is easy and poor (despite in the movie works well)

  • hey really good job!

i'll probably show this off to my friends one day.. THANKS!

  • You are welcome!

  • very very very easy? nah its very very very very easy. lol

  • nice work on teaching them, ;)

  • AHAHAHAHAH

D minor, so fucking true !

  • good work, really.

  • Thank you!

  • This music is very good, you dont know what you are talking about, they are paid so much because they are that good! If you listen to 'Molossus' for example from Batman Begins properly it is stunning!!! the piece has different powerful hugely dramatic themes drumming up massive amounts of excitment and energy. Your stupid video shows nothing of the composers work, the music has far more then 2 notes or 2 chords, there are many layers/sounds and depth to the overall pieces, you dont know music!

  • at :30 it sounds slightly fake to me

i think u just ripped that from the official theme...

    but nice try

  • If it sounds slightly fake it's because I used the official theme to compare the two versions, the synth string of my Yamaha and the original strings of the theme :) :)

  • Just goes to show you that these composers arent worth the 400,000 USD per song that they get. Good music can come from anyone. Ever ate baked beans?

  • Even if I never ate baked beans, I'm agree with you: good music can come from anyone.

I'm angry because Mr. Zimmer and Mr. Howard are the most payed composers of Hollywood, and they wrote this plain musical score effortlessly...

  • i'm not sure i would call it plain, because there are parts that do have a huge impact on the movie, and it fits it well. but i do agree that it is a little plain.

  • In the movie the score works well, you are right. But on the cd it's very boring. :)

  • plain? dont think so this music is epic in the action scenes of both Batman Begins and Dark Knight plus they created it from originality not copied it so to you its effortless because someone has already done it and your copying it, plus the real thing is alot more complex and moving than doing it on a yamaha keyboard in your bedroom

  • Hi!

I made the theme less complex than the original beacause a lot of people who don't know music wanted to learn the Zimmer-Howard theme. In the movie the score sounds great in both films, it's fast, exciting, but not complex.

The director Nolan requested a "sound" approach to the movie, not a thematic score. Both scores are epic, but not complex i think.

  • hahah lol maybe hanz zimmer just relli likes d minor like i like c# major hehe

  • You like c# major?

    It isn't an easy key!

I prefer A minor, no black keys on the piano ^_^

  • =O RACIST! hahahah

    Nah im only joking =]

  • But I also like the D sharp minor chord, called the Black chord :)

  • wow lmfao!!!

  • Wow! This is inspiring! Now I know I can create my own dark themes with just 2 keys. XD

    Thanks.

  • ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

  • Hey dude great job, I learned how to play the song easily from this video, but truth be told, this isn't what I was looking for. It isn't your fault but nobody seems to know the Danny Elfman Batman theme, can you have a tutorial on that? I'd really appreciate it.

  • Damn, I've been lookin' for the sheet music for Batman 1989 too. If u find it... or find a tutorial video check bak with me please ;)

  • I'll tell you for sure

  • thanx

  • thanks so much. i was just wondering. isn't there more to it than that and if there is could u put it up? just wondering for ur next video.....

  • The Begins and Dark Knight scores are very themes-limitated.

There are three main ideas: this awful two-note theme for Batman, a piano theme called Corynhorhinus (however you can find the sheet music on the web) and the Molossus action theme.

But all of the themes, except for Mr. Newton-Howard material, are very very poor, and I can't understand why this score had an enormous success...

Newton-Howard and Zimmer are very talented, but they didn't wrote music: they wrote a "sound".

  • cool thanks. and ur right about how they write with a sound in mind.

  • i find it effective because of its simplicity and that the score never upstages the action on screen. also, don't they teach you in film-scoring that you're supposed to have only a few main ideas recurring throughout the film? that's why you hear variations of the same theme in for example fellowship of the ring. i mean i don't know i'm not a music major.

  • The difference is that the fellowship of the ring has ideas, themes (a LOT of themes, not only two or three... a soundtrack expert some years ago counted 80 themes in the whole trilogy!) and a musical development.

The new Batman scores speaking in music terms can be compared to a fart ^_^

The scores work effectively on the movie, with no doubt.

But if you listen them separately, Begins and Dark Knight are very very boring.

Mr Zimmer and Howard wrote them without getting up from the bed.

  • nice and really really easy thanks.

  • You're welcome! :)

  • Thanks a lot. "Key in D-minor, just like the entire repertoire of Hans Zimmer" Haha, that's right.

  • ^_^

    Thank you for the comment!
