Also use the gloves as BSI (body substance isolation) and in the case you get stained with blood etc. use MyClyns for desinfection - it works even in the mouth & eyes! Last but not least one should get familiar with the TCCC (Tactical Casualty Care) guidelines - especially with the Care-under-fire assessment. Forget all the fancy stuff but learn how to identify and stop major bleeding as a core skill and evolve around it. Thanks for the PeakSurvival Videos & stay safe :-)
instead of the mentioned "Trauma Pak" you should put a bleeding kit together: 2x Israeli Trauma Dressing (4" & 6"), 4x ABD Combine Pad, 2x SOFTT Tourniquet, 2x Coban, 2x Quick Clot Combat Gauze, 4x Compressed Gauze, 2x Asherman Chest Seal, 1x Tape/ Duct Tape, 6x Gloves, 1x MyClyns. Use the Tourniquet for massive bleeding or use QC Combat Gauze+Compressed Gauze for deep wound packing and finalize it with a Israeli Trauma Dressing or Coban. Instead of a flutter valve use the chest seal.
While QuickClot is amazing, Celox has a tiny edge over it and doesn't require as much of a 'learning curve' -- and you don't have to 'distinguish' wounds -- it's a very good 'scoop-n-shoot' alternative, and our local Emergency Clinics are **leaning** to adopt it as the ONLY hemostatic agent we are allowed to use because many of us are Volunteers with Corpsman/Medic and/or several years of paramedic experience and are used to QC from military, but Lay folks might consider Celox as an alternative.
Thanks for ALL your information.Something that's a GREAT BATTLE DRESSING is a few 'feminine' napkins and duct-tape (I've found Gorilla Glue tape the best) with QuickClot it's amazing. We actually quit using REAL battle packs because they were too expensive for keeping our rescue vehicles stocked and always having enough for our flight/hike-kits and they are nonstick to boot! Teacn-n-Lead field trips for U's and they are ALWAYS required in every daypack that EVERY student MUST carry. (N-Cent NV).
@adrn25m hey there, you should have no trouble with using QuickClot in the UK- the package she is showing is the civilian pack and not the Mil. spec product :-) also QuickClot is used around the world so medics will know what it is- should you ever run into someone who has not used this specific product just let them know it is a Coagulant (kōˈagyələnt) if it's just a deep gash they will most likely just change the dressing & the hospital will take care of the rest.
@mrmonkeyman50 the pro grade that is sold to EMS and the Mil. is a faster acting Coagulant that can clot more blood then what you see here. however it can generate far more heat when used wrong and can do real harm to your patient. you should try to soak up as much blood as you can before applying either one since they can both burn.
@mrmonkeyman50 haha ya I saw that your post was a year old- but then I just thought what the heck, it could still help :-) where abouts are you from? (if you don't mind me asking)
I have quick clot in my car first aid kit, and I have it in my level 3 EMT Trauma kit. Also, in a future video you might talk about WaterJel or also known as BurnJel. This is another fantastic product just like Quick Clot that should be in every first aid kit. Preppers are always getting burned trying to start a fire with a drill and bow, or with a magnesium starter, or other "field" techniques. Campers are always getting burned cooking over a camp fire which they are not used to doing.

Any idea if this is approved for use in other countries by civilians like United Kingdom?
If used, would paramedics in other countries know anything about it or how to remove or how to treat? Or would you just show them the packet???

Just one single 5x9 ABD pad for a "trauma kit"?
Not much in that kit.

@JoeDurobot which is why most of us build our own trauma kits ;-)

You can buy quick clot at numerous places not just AMK. REI, Bass Pro Shops, and just about any Medical Supplier on the internet.

Can you explain what the difference between EMT QuickClot and consumer QuickClot is?
