  • cant really tell but it sounds like a exhaust leak to me..but anyway ...it doesnt matter if its a mustang or camaro or any sports car..you have to realize if you didnt buy it new..these kinds of cars get abused from day one..so expect propblems....almost all of these cars get the living snot beat out of them from day one...toyotas and hondas included..and they all brake..

  • empaques de maniful

  • did you ever get this fixed and how muc did it cost?

  • Your valves are making out with your pistons.

  • This may not be the answer and i honestly cant say it is however, have u recently replace the extractors? its a common problem replacing extractors can sometimes give a pinking/loose tappet sound or may even sound like timing chain or worn chain tensioner sound i have heard in my years of car experience if u haven't played with the extractors sorry for wasting your time

  • IMPORTSAREBETTER lol and your the kind of guy that would say a V6 is better and faster than a V8 get some money and by a real muscle car to feel some real power and leave your grocery getter at home. Who gives a FUCK about this piece of shit V6 buy a new engine you FUCK!

  • ill betcha you abuse it thats why its breaking down. TAKE CARE OF IT!

  • its junk but the problem is Valves man. do yourself a favor. get a import. engines are way better and can get alot more miles. but your valves are prolly just about shot i think.

  • sounds like time for a 4.6! or go with a gear drive to relace the timing chain. I worked for ford and have owned many stangs... i believe the v6 and 302 use the same timing gears but you may have to modify slightly. good luck, oh try thicker oil and see if sound goes away.10w40 or if your in hot climate 20w50 synthetic

  • Timing chain is loose just needs to be tightend a little thats whats making the rattle noise I've seen time and time again ASE Certified Master Tech!

  • u sound more like a idiot, u cant tighten a timing chain moron, there are tensioners that keep it tight ASE certified my ass and if the do get a rattle then the tensioners are worn or the chain has stretched in which case u replace the tensioner or replace the chain or remove a link from the chain, u sound more like a kid that thinks he knows something about cars

  • @bdr12259 what a moron you are!!! ASE certified master tech LMFAO Seen it time and time again. Have you now. Go crawl in a hole and die why dont you!. BTW people the problem is that it is a ford.

  • Test the gaskets, I thinks thats the problem, cuz if u heard it very well, it has a sound something like 1.1.1.1.1 (the ones are the sound, the dots are a pause) instead of the sounds a problem with a valve does thats like 1...1...1...1 (if u have a V4) or 1.....1.....1 (if its a V6)

  • Ur a fucking idiot, a V4????? Yeah i went and bought me a big block V4!!!!!!!

  • volvos have a v4 diesel in europe.

  • sounds almost like an exhaust leak. does the sound go away when you step on the gas or does it get louder?

  • MIne does the same thing.. I think it's the timing chain tensioner and guides... But I am not certain.. Seems a lot of our cars are doing this.
