I also started when I was 26 got pretty good too, then my daughters took over and I had to put the sticks away. Still crying !!! pray for me !! LOL
I also just bought my son his first golf club (real one not plastic). He is 15 months old. Though he has no back swing because of his age, he does take the club back and forth to hit a golf ball. I have high hopes for him!

When I was 18 I played with a 9 and 10 year old nearly every day that were world jr ranked They were shooting in the mid 70s on a regular course from nearly the tips at that age. They are now 19 and 20. The 20 year old is doing better then the 19 year old. I mainly see him in Nationwide events as he is trying to get on the PGA. I would just say keep up the tournament play. Thats were you build the confidence for when it really gets competitive at older age

P.S. I love that she keeps that right elbow bent and tucked into her body at impact. This was one of Ben Hogan's secret to being a great ball striker.

Golf is a tough game. I have been watching this video a lot and I have learned so much and improved my game by imitating her swing. You see, kids at times are our teacher. I hope she learn the mental and control part of golf which is the hardest part of the game to learn.
Nothing wrong with introducing your child to a sport or talent and wanting them to excel. People will always criticize, I think if you let your child sit and do nothing with their life’s then they will complain about that too. If she loves what she does then she will appreciate you and thank you forever.
Tell you what, despite the slight reverse pivot (which some call stack'n'tilt these days) she has everything nailed on. Keeps head over ball, straight left arm, great lag and dropping in the slot. Will keep my eye out for her on tour in about 2021....good luck with it!

Just make sure she can type too as a back up plan. There's a big difference between having a good swing as a 5 year old and making claims that she is going to be best female golfer of all time. The problem is that if you don't start kids at this age they will never get a chance down the line. Parents WANT their kids to be kids, but when you see the other kids shooting par by 12 y/o you either have to step up, or step away forever. There is no catching up later.
If a kid is a natural athlete, or wants to be an athlete, parents have no choice.
Do you really believe that MLB players just played Little League and on the high school team? Nope.

My suggestion to you as an elite collegiate athlete albeit in another sport, who also excelled when I was young... take it easy on her. There's no need for hype, pressure, expectations or comparisons. Let her take control of what she wants to do. The last thing you want is for her to get sick of golf as a teenager, and the way to avoid that is to let her make it fun and have control.

She look very fundamentaly sound!!!! One question though. those didtances from tee to green are a bit close, almost "reds". I see blue tee balls. Did you guys move them up for astetics??
Very nice swing and I can understand her age might force her swing plane extremely upright, but at some point she will need to bend more at the hips and swing more around her body, lowering her swing plane. This will also help her keep her head behind the ball as she make her turn, instead of her spine angling towards her left foot. Also, is she wants to play professionally, she'll need to putt 10x as good as she strikes the ball. That's my two cents and I wish her all the luck in the world!
@identix02 Ethan and his family spent the last nine months moving back and forth across the US twice. Unfortunately, he has had very little practice time since last August. Now that they are settled in Oregon I'm sure his game will return. He is the second most dedicated junior I've seen in my 20+ years of coaching. Not to mention he is a super smart and genuinely nice young man!

This is why parents should never post videos of their kids on YouTube. What is the point? To show how great your kids are. She has a really good swing but...what's the motivation behind the video. Tell you what, despite the slight reverse pivot (which some call stack'n'tilt these days) she has everything nailed on. Keeps head over ball, straight left arm, great lag and dropping in the slot. Will keep my eye out for her on tour in about 2021....good luck with it!

Just make sure she can type too as a back up plan. There's a big difference between having a good swing as a 5 year old and making claims that she is going to be best female golfer of all time. It's takes a lot more than a good swing. The fact is that the odds of her even making the LPGA is still 100/1.

The problem is that if you don't start kids at this age they will never get a chance down the line. Parents WANT their kids to be kids, but when you see the other kids shooting par by 12 y/o you either have to step up, or step away forever. There is no catching up later.
If a kid is a natural athlete, or wants to be an athlete, parents have no choice.
Do you really believe that MLB players just played Little League and on the high school team? Nope.

My suggestion to you as an elite collegiate athlete albeit in another sport, who also excelled when I was young... take it easy on her. There's no need for hype, pressure, expectations or comparisons. Let her take control of what she wants to do. The last thing you want is for her to get sick of golf as a teenager, and the way to avoid that is to let her make it fun and have control.

Very nice swing and I can understand her age might force her swing plane extremely upright, but at some point she will need to bend more at the hips and swing more around her body, lowering her swing plane. This will also help her keep her head behind the ball as she make her turn, instead of her spine angling towards her left foot. Also, is she wants to play professionally, she'll need to putt 10x as good as she strikes the ball. That's my two cents and I wish her all the luck in the world!

@identix02 Ethan and his family spent the last nine months moving back and forth across the US twice. Unfortunately, he has had very little practice time since last August. Now that they are settled in Oregon I'm sure his game will return. He is the second most dedicated junior I've seen in my 20+ years of coaching. Not to mention he is a super smart and genuinely nice young man!
