  • Lol, never thought to check this out, kudos messybluesboy, Freddy Curci for sure. My bro-in-law wrote this song for my sister, played it at their wedding too. At one point the note Curci hits at the end of the tune was the longest sustained note in rock history

  • only 16 and play this everyday, i love 70's rock, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea haha

  • Why are their pants blurred out? Were they embarrassed by their own legs or something?

  • very good

  • Hmmmm... I played this at my wedding in 89. It was a beautiful ceremony; that's about the only nice thing I can say there. Except this is the first time in like 18 or 19 years that I've listened to it & not wanted to throw up or hit someone. Someone as in the EX! He turned out to be a real "winner" if you know what I mean?? Sucks that it ruined this song for me for so long! Thank God that's over! I do sooo love love the song!

  • @ialreadyownit I got married to my first wife in 89. Got divorced in 92. I got married again in 96 and we just celebrated 15 years of marriage.

  • You know, I always wondered what the names of the other band members were, I know that Freddy Curci was the lead singer and that he was probably the one with the long hair farthest to the right. But every time I try and find out the names of the other guys, I come up with nothing. It seems mysterious. It would be nice to find out for once.

  • One of the songs that makes me cry every time I hear it.... Freddy Curci´s voice is the best male voice I ever heard!!! Unbelieveable!!!

  • Thumbs up if you feel this way about your significant other :-)

  • The singer sounds kind of like Jani Lane from Warrant.

  • Very great tune!! I could listen to this song for hours and hours and never get tired of it!!

  • @AngusShanks I've no time for trolls. G'bye.

  • Little trivia here: the last note at the end of this holds the record for the longest note ever held on a Top 40 single.

  • That guy in the black and white, rockin' the headband is an absolute stud.

  • The song of my twin soul, I'm lost in love when I'm with you...

  • Jani Lane was with Warrant...he died a few weeks ago

  • R.I.P. GTL I will always miss you!! This is my love all the way!! He was the greatest!!

  • Anyone know the names of the members of the band from left to right? and if they are alive or not?

  • @stuvo1977, yeah one hit wonder, but I can't find one hit nowadays that compare to this!

  • Welcome to one hit wonderville!!!

  • The 80's was a great decade for music. Lots of good hair metal, R&B and stuff like this song too. Michael Jackson, Van Halen, Luther Vandross, U2, etc.

  • lol @SILENT....tff

  • i smoke weed to this and reminisce alot...... makes me happy as fuck!

  • I remember hearing this back in '83...then in again in '88 or '89...rare for a single to chart twice years apart..but well deserved!..

  • This was one of those "All Star Bands/Supergroups" made up of the hottest and best session muscians much like Toto and Mr. Mister and the such. Wish they would have carried on a bit longer. Saw them open for BAD ENGLISH & White Snake.

  • I have loved this song since its first release in 1983. Couldn't believe it didn't catch on at that time, it's so beautiful. Was so glad when it was re-released in '88 and reached its well-deserved position of #1 !!

  • @winscott9601

I remember that too. I was happy it finally caught on. Fantastic song!!!! :)

  • yessssssssss sing it to me!! <3<3<3

  • This was out when I was falling in love with the love of my life. Almost as soon as I won her love, I lost her to cancer. The pain is gone. The memories remain. She'll aways be young in my minds eye.

  • @bigredoneder I know what it's like to lose a loved one to cancer... I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

  • @MattHutzell Sorry to hear that bro...thanks for sharing.

  • @MattHutzell My Condolence

  • @bigredoneder My heart goes out to you brother. I lost my young wife two years ago. This was one of her favorite songs and one night when she was in the hospital I played it for her over the phone. Two days later she was gone, with a week to go before our 8th wedding anniversary. Ever since then I cannot stop the tears every time I hear this and I doubt that will ever change for as long as I live.

  • @bigredoneder I lost my wife to cancer too, 21/2 years ago. We were married 20 years. She was only 41 years old. This song was what she chose to be our wedding song. I miss her so much. I love you Hon, I'll see you someday soon.

  • @bigredoneder My Condolence

  • @bigredoneder Sorry to hear that. Peace be with you my friend..

  • Life's A Garden, Dig it.

  • @howImetyourfather Wow, sounds so romantic! That´s the way I always wanted to have my wedding. :-) Still I´m not married but maybe one day! :-)

  • @howImetyourfather As a former wedding DJ, this was the best first dance song EVER !!! good choice :)

  • @howImetyourfather This will one day be my wedding song too :)

  • Wasn't the guy on the far left in the Village People?

    Sorry ... couldn't resist. *grin*

  • OMFG IVE BEEN LOOKIN 4 THS SONG 4 7 YRS!!!!! I FINNALY FOUND IT

  • Still sends shivers down my spine.

  • Was Jani Lane the singer in this group?

  • @messybluesboy No, Freddi Curci was.

  • @messybluesboy Jani Lane was the lead singer of Warrant.

  • @messybluesboy No you're thinking of the lead singer of Warrant a similar band, Freddi Curci was the lead singer though.

  • No, but their voices do sound very similar...i love them both tho :-D

  • @messybluesboy Jani lane was the singer for Warrant.

  • who r the two dislike this song?

  • awesome song i wish they still made music like this

  • GREAT SONG BACK IN THE LATE 80'S!!!!! I REMEMBER THIS SONG WELL !!!!!

  • beautiful song.. all time fav for the past 1 yr. love it.

  • If you like this song, be sure to check out the following ballads that I personally think are better:

"Love Of A Lifetime" by Firehouse

"When I See You Smile" by Bad English

    "Is This Love" by Whitesnake

"Hold On To My Heart" by WASP (notorious band but this song is beautiful. Will make you cry)

"I Remember You" by Skid Row

"November Rain" by Guns N Roses

"Don't Know What You Got" by Cinderalla

There are other great power ballads out there, but imho, these are damn good tear jerkers.

  • Who is the "1" idiot that gave this a thumbs down????????

  • @crimsontidecowboy1 No idea. :P

  • @MattHutzell we find him and burn him alive in a funeral pyre of Justin Bieber posters. this is a 'slow dance' classic

  • @ruiner0907 BWAHAHAHAHAHA! i can't stop laughing!

  • @crimsontidecowboy1 maybe a justin bieber fan ;P

  • really cool song

  • this song touches my heart & soul another beautiful love ballad i always listen to often it brings me to tears everytime i here it

  • Half of them became Alias ("More than Words Can Say") the other half Frozen Ghost ("Dream Come True"). Both #1 hits just like this classic.

  • "sherrrifff" was a truly great rock band from canada and nobody knows about them except for me....

  • @duncankingdog

Hey, I know about Sheriff too! Loved them, as well as their "spin-offs" Alias and Frozen Ghost. Truly fantastic Canadian groups! Canadian groups never get enough credit, it's not fair. I'm Canadian and proud of it. :)

  • @Supermusicisloveable I'm American.. your right my friend! Sooo many awesome bands and musicians from CANADA!!! Never get the credit they deserve, from me....YES!!

  • Thanks Paul!!!

  • This song has been butchered by more asians in more kareoke bars than can be counted. Its up there with Pol Pots numbers....

  • Classic love song with nothing but positive imagery and lyrics. Gotta love that finish - what talent !

  • nothing beats the 80's loving this i'm thinking of you, and i can't ever let go of what we had, I just wish things were different, I hope to see you someday!

  • I wanted to have this song in my wedding but was unable to find a copy for the ceremony. I was really sad about that too. That was back in 1988 and we are still married

  • @TheAngiepat3663 Shame that you couldn't find a copy of it! However, congrats on still being together! ^^ I wish you both the best. C:

  • @TheAngiepat3663 Well hear's what cha do. just renew your vows & throw a new wedding party & play the hell outta this sucker. Don't give up! Make ur dreams come true!

  • Funny my wife and I were married in 1989 in a very simple courthouse affair because we were pregnant and we are still happily wed, but we had some friends who had to big huge wedding and reception and this was one of their songs and that is when I fell in love with it. Unfortunately there marriage dissolved long ago. But yea I remember the days when a song was so hard to come by.. My how times have changed..you can have any song in 30 seconds.

  • @TheAngiepat3663 LOL...this was our song when we met in 1988 the year after high school, and through the years when we broke up, got back together etc, it was still special. After a while we got back together and we played it at our wedding in 2001...still happily married and now with 3 kids...this song still takes me back to the first time I saw her.

  • I love this song!

  • So Freddy Curci writing this song about a woman he supposedly "flipped over"?

    Yeah, I can see that.

I flipped over one once. (8^)

  • and what I mean by leaving school long enough to have the baby is that she COULD HAVE gone on home schooling with a school appointed tutor long enough to have the baby and take a few weeks to allow her body to recover, and then she COULD HAVE come back and continue the rest of that school year and the rest of her high school years and still graduate as the VALEDICTORIAN OF THE CLASS

(which is what she did graduate as)

  • Hey "revacohen",

I flipped for a woman back when I was a teenager in high school. It was 1982 and we were in the music department together.

I thought that she was a woman even way back then because the teenage pregnancy problem in the U.S. was just starting to explode, and she was the only teenager that I've ever met that I thought could have left school long enough to have a baby and come back without missing a beat.

  • IMHO, the best love song of ever.

  • this song is how i felt when i was with my ex in the beginning. how quickly thing's change tho!!!

  • another timeless classic from the 80's

  • This is my favorite song of all time

  • It's a pretty song....

  • nice song

  • they just don't do song like thie anymore no imagination all remakes

  • greatest line ever . . . when I'm with youuuu-ooooh-oooh-oooh-ooooh-ooooh-wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo (phonetic)

  • this was my homecoming dance song!

  • Arnold Lanni actually wrote this song for his girlfriend, now wife.

  • And they're CANADIAN!!! Awwwwwesome!!

  • And once again I have always loved Sheriff, and this song, love it,thanks for posting :)

  • What a sweet song!

  • I have forgotten about this song,loved it 4 ever,thank u for posting.

  • babe I get chills with I'm with you...precious song

  • one of the longest held notes in rock music to end this song

  • Lori, my dearest my joy. My sweetest love. You once asked me what my favorite song was? Being a Marine we sometimes hide our feelings. this was it but I was afraid to say. sorry, forever yours, Craig

  • it breaks my heart that we went from this to what we have today im 26 and my heart goes out to yall that keeps great music alive i thank u.

  • I read a long time ago that Freddy Curci wrote this song for a woman that he "flipped over." She must have been very special.

  • @revacohen Not sure! o:

  • @revacohen Actually, Reva, Freddy didn't write it. Arnold Lanni, of the group, wrote it. Hit #1 in the US. God bless!

  • @revacohen ACTUALLY that's not the case. It's actually Arnold Lanni (the keyboardist (Sheriff) and singer for Frozen Ghost) who wrote the song for his (then girlfriend - now wife) Valeri Brown. He wrote here the song for Valerie on Valentine's Day in early 80s. Freddy told me the whole story one time and it is pretty amazing.

  • Yeah they weren't allowed to use Sheriff when they did the follow up album so they called it Alias. The cover had a sheriffs badge as the center piece. Amazing story that goes along with it too! Giving me chills just typing this.

  • @anthomps Omg I never knew that! =D I thought Alias was a side project or something!

  • Wasn't this guy also the lead singer of Alias (I Need You Now is the song that comes to mind). I'm pretty sure it's his voice and face.

  • @shandi411 They are one in the same! :)

  • One of my all time favourite from a great singer and band

  • One of my favourite favourite songs of all time

  • This is a classic song, of which, no one can remember the band name, simple as it is!

  • Classic song from a classic band. It's a shame they didn't make it big. They deserve it.

  • @MattHutzell I'd say they made it pretty big. This was my friends band. They played our high school before it was played on the radio. I slow-danced with my high school girlfriend to this song. We all thought it should be on the radio. Then it was...;-)

  • @JeffTheCanuck2 o: That's awesome! o:

  • @MattHutzell This sure is light years better than what passes for "music" nowadays! Unbelievable how disposable and lame music has become.
