Like I know Belaryussian-Russian and I can understand some Polish. ^^ I can sort of understand the basic concept of what they are saying.

No it's not hard. The hardest languages are Arabic and Chineese. Arabic mainly because of the many synonyms and sentence structures. ( ishould know, I'm Syrian. XDD) Does that help?

Polish people always treated (and some still do) us like dirt, and we were always major assholes to them. Lot's of Lituanian fans comment that they don't like this because they don't like Poland and damn about Feliks character. Part of this hate is stereotips cuz we still don't want forget about past. It's sick to 'fight' with neighbour. If politics care about good Lit-Pol relationships we woud be close again but we know that they won't do it =.=

Himaruya waves away most of the relationship inaccuracies through the latter and, as I've seen mentioned, ruled of humor. (And it would truly be difficult in a one strip webcomic to capture the intricacies of global history.) For Poland and Lithuania, Liet actually doesn't like him as much as they are potrayed in the fandom, but they are friends due to attractive personalities. Same for Austria and Hungary.
