@danimalsica It was a new series called "Live at West 54th" - this was the 1st show and the people in the audience weren't fans of the band, just brought in to watch the performance. Pick up the DVD (ISBN 0-7389-0155-5) on Amazon or eBay - def worth the $10
@DoctorMiracle actually the previous comment was right. the whole thing's in 4-4. it's just the song emphasizes the upbeat of the 4th count. the only time it hits the first downbeat is when they say "Kate" at the chorus.
@poseidonHestia3 there is NOT a guitar. The instrument you daftly think is a guitar is actually a bass guitar, an instrument developed in the 1950s long after the GUITAR was already a standard. I believe Robert Sledge does however split his bass signal and run half of it through a guitar amp.
@no9lives this song is in 4/4. there are no changes. there is emphasis on the upbeat of the 4th beat that could be throwing you off. it is in 4/4 the whole way through. listen to the snare.
Drummers great. This is a band ive just got back into. Was listening to them when I was sixteen and they're totally timeless. That was like 14 years ago and they still sound just as good to me.
When was this filmed? he looks so young! maybe it's just the hair. my name is kate. thankgod for that, otherwise i would never have found ben folds and listen to him like everyday of my life without fail. what a legend!
Sheldon66. I stumbled across this in April of 2008 now I own every BF and BFF CD, play piano and drive my wife nuts with daily musings on how awesome Ben Folds is. I was a guitar player...not so much anymore. I LOVE BEN FOLDS.
@MrGtrhed ........cool!! I became a fan of them while living in Japan. "Jackson Cannery" was quite a big hit there, so I guess I have liked them since '94. They were/are actually quite popular in Japan.
Ben Folds is amazing!! People if you stumble upon this and know nothing about Ben Folds.....do yourself a favor and pick up some of Ben Folds Five CDs and then pick up some Ben Fold's CD's....you'll thank yourself for doing it!
@keepingthebeat1989 What trios WITH a guitarist could even top them? Primus, Nirvana, The Police, Rush? I think BFF might even still be better than the bands I proposed.
awesome =)

You just gotta love bens sense of humor. I mean, he's in a band named "Ben folds five" and there's only three people. Priceless.
