  • It's amazing how the jugs remains are still on the post...hahaa

  • Nice video guys & its much much better then some of the so called pros.

  • have that baby ackleyed and get another 150 to 200 fps, plus no bolt thrust or brass stretch. i love mine and kick ass with it at the 500 yd f class matches. 75 a max or 69 gr sierra work great with 1 in 9 twist

  • Great video macaddict. I have got to get my target camera up and running.

    Cheers

  • should've have dialed about one half moa left and 1 half moa higher, but other than that good shooting!!!!

  • where are you zeroed @, and what kind of hold/elevation adjustment did you put on the scope?

  • @aj514 I think i dialed in about 45 moa of elevation.

I'm really thinking about getting my hands on a Savage 10 fcp-k in .308. That'd be one badass target gun.

  • dude macaddict i did this with my new savage edge in .223 with some hand loaded 69 gr sierra matchkings. it took me several shots but i hit a 10 by 10 inch target at 1000 yards. i never thought it possible with the .223 but it is. i wish i could get those 75 grain A maxes to stabilize that would make it eve n easier to do.

  • @223shoota Nice work man. Those edge's look badass. They're such a nice rifle for that price.

  • @223shoota I'm shooting the 75 gr a-maxes out of my Savage 12 VLP DBM .223. I think 1:9 twist. They are stable so fat down to about 65 F and just above Sea level. PM me a e-mail and I can send you an excel spreadsheet of stability for temp pressure and different twists for .224 cal bullets.

    Check out my Vids, 75gr a-maxes at 535, 822, and 985 yards.

    Cheers

  • I shoot a Savage 12FV in .223 with 75 gr Amax @ 2900 fps. I need to get some videos up, last time I shot was 1,200 yards but it took about 8 shots to get on target.

  • @GCMxVeGeTa I have measure my barrel twist, supposed to be a 1 in 9 and its measures 1 in 8.75 (I measured over 2 complete turns. I can now stabilize the 75 gr a maxes down to about 36F on a 28.80 pressure (absolute) Haven't really worked to much on the load for the amaxes. About .8moa right now. Better in the summer at around the .5 moa. I like shooting lots so I got a progressive press so maybe not as accurate as could be.

Love to see some videos of .223 at long range GCMx

    Cheers

  • not bad for the caliber and range, next time try aiming a little higher

  • you need a shooting mat bud. I use movers blankets.

  • What bullet are you using? 1040 yards is quite a ways past where most consider the max range of the .223. Sounds like the bullet is still supersonic at that range. Good shooting!

  • Nice shooting, .223 is a great caliber.

  • you guys are livin the life...if there vvere jobs out there....i d move today.....peaceout

  • good shooting lads what size isthe target.

  • @stevok49 ~1X2 feet

  • What kind of scope is that? Nice shooting!!!

  • @zander123452 It's a BSA Platinum series.

  • Would you Recamend it for long range shooting at prarie dogs?

  • @zander123452 Yeah, I would. You can pick them up for 120 bucks and it performs great for how cheap it is. I was worried, but it hasn't lost its zero or anything major like that yet.

  • Im suprised that , it can pick up a target at that range. What is the modle number and where did u get it. Sorry about all the questions im getting savage just like that one(the 12v). How it the clearity at that range and in general.

  • @zander123452 I got mine at cabela's, but you can pick it up online and save quite a few bucks. I think I got the PT624X44TS model, but the mil-dot model would be nice in a lot of situations. Clarity in general's fine, but if the magnification goes over ~20X things start to get smokey, but It doesn't bother me really. I don't usually use it in that range of magnification anyway. It's certainly clear enough at any magnification to pick out a prairie dog.

  • Thanks very much for the information. I really appriechiate it. I'm fairly new at hunting. So lots of research. Thanks!!

  • GOD! That cannot be comfortable haha. Nice view btw, where you guys shooting?

  • @TacTeppo It's outside of Guernsey, in south-eastern Wyoming.

  • Great vid. I had no idea 223 would be that accurate at that range. Just imagine what a 308 would do

  • cool vid, check the vid of me fiing rem700 in .223

  • Amazing how much force those little .224 cals still have.

  • It really is. I didn't think it would have enough energy to move the gong at that distance.

  • Great video, love the 2 camera view. What grain were the .223 rounds?

  • They're 69 grain seirra hollow point boat tails.
