  • This helped me LOTS when I attempted Mr.Perfect.

  • Well, I always used Rush Coil for dodging fire breath (specially the one after charges) I think It is safer than doing that long jump thing

  • thank you man.. finaly cleard it!

  • Or if you can't dodge the fire breath since it is hard to do it. Just use black hole bomb just in case.

  • Mega Man's 10 mr perfect is sooo much easier bc of easy mode. just reload your save if you screw up. i'm going to tackle Mega Man's 10 mr perfect eventually

  • I would be yelling so loud if i got hit on one of the 8 bosses or wily.

  • fuck this game. spent 3 hours getting to this part and wily kept killing me. I said fuck him and saved. came back to try and beat it, turns out you got to start from stage one. Fuck mega man nine

  • Simply amazing. - makes we want to go and finish this game right now.

    Kudos to you Soultrigger!

Seems that I did not know the potential of the weapons I had - thank you all for your additional tips and strategies.

  • Just a good tip. You can hit Jewel Man 3 times off of one Black Hole Bomb. Just time the jumps right and he'll run into a single shot 3 times. That should give you a couple extra shots for projectile absorbing. Also remember that Shock Guards and Beat Whistles are good insurance and work for the achievement.

  • I also failed more than once because of Tornado Man, but I found a cheap trick to make it a lot more easier, you just have to buy some spike protections at the shop and (hopefully) not lose more than two in Wily stages. When you're at Tornado Man and you feel like you won't be able to dodge his tornado attack, Jump to the spikes and get hit. It doesn't count against you and you'ill be able to finish it without too much troubles.

  • I just finished this archievement, and now I feel like sharing some tips for the robots master remacht! The one I had most troubles was Magma man, the easiest way to beat him without getting hit is to use tornado blow when he is about to jump, then when he's 2 or 3 steps close to you, jump while using tornado blow over him, then finish him off.

  • Lol magma bazooka kills its holder

  • Good lord.

After maxing out with 9 E-Tanks, a M-Tank, 2 Spike-savers, 2 bird catchers, and 1 item giver, I blew through the first 3 stages and had 8 E-Tanks, an M-Tank, and an item giver still in my arsenal. I used them all, and still could not beat Mega Man 9. I just had Concrete man left...*sniff* IMO, he has the most unavoidable pattern compared to the other bosses. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I really don't.

  • @McCMacBook

    :[ *pats back*

keep trying, its worth the effort

  • Thanks for the guide...I just purchased this game recently and stage 3 was kicking my ass. Not stage 2, though...isn't that the one most people hate? Oh well. I find Wily's castle surprisingly easy in the first two stages, but man....

  • First 2 were pretty easy, it was the third one...for me it was travelling up the shaft and dodging the spikes/enemies etc.

  • Damn hard challenge!!

I beat the first three Wily stages perfectly today, screwed up at Galaxy Man (d'oh!)... beat the other robot masters without getting hit and screwed up badly at Wily... I still have to do some practice on clearing his shots with BHBs and then use the plug ball for massive damage. But that'll come eventually.

(It was my 30th run since I got the 'Truly Hardcore' challenge, I thought it would be my 8927th run to get anywhere close at beating the game without getting hit.)

  • Wow, you are AMAZING!

That would suck if you got hit on Dr. Wily right at the end before you were to finish a Mr. Perect run.

  • why did you use tornado blow after beating Wily and jumping?

  • I'm going out on a limb here, but I think the reason why Soultrigger used T. Blow on Wily is in reference to the Wily battle from Megaman 4 where you can use another screen-wide attack (the Rain Flush) and actually KILL Wily as he tries to escape. Of course, being able to do so is an anomaly and when preformed the game just stops since it was programmed only to cue the victory theme over Wily after he successfully escapes.

Then again, he could have just done it for no reason. Only he knows.

  • Actually, I just tried to catch the chip in midair, but I do know what SatoshiMatrix1 is referring to.

Unintentionally, I made a nod to the MM4 "Kill Wily" glitch. =]

  • I thought you did it because Mega Man jumps higher, so it appears that he's cheering or something.

  • I found it easiest to beat tornado man by going to point blank and constantly shoot plug balls at him, under 10 seconds to kill him that way

  • You are insane at this game. Nice work on the guide, I can tell a lot of effort went into it. I will use it to get don't continue ach let alone don't get hit!!! I'm still playing the game. Just got to Wily, haven't tried it yet. Thanks 5 star!

  • also, i couldn't quite do some of your strategies as well as u do but they do help nonetheless.

  • i'm here to give huge thanks to u soultrigger for these helpful megaman 9 wily stage videos. they really helped me finally beat this game once and for all : ). i wasn't able to beat it late last year (got to final form of wily by luck lol and gave up due to lack of "ammo" for weapons). i didn't use all of your suggested strategies (wasn't really going for mr. perfect). i hope u make more videos like this one in the future : ).

  • Awesome!!

Thanks very much for uploading this, it'll help me a lot for getting Mr. Perfect =)

  • Did you get "Quick Draw G" or "Marathon Man"?

  • Thanks for the videos! Finally finished the game!

  • yeah!

  • how is it that your helmet magically reappears during the magma man fight then disappears again after you defeat him?

  • As I said in the video info., there are a few noticeable video edits. During that run, I messed up on Magma Man, so I replaced the clip with a Time Trial one.

  • From watching this guide, wily 3rd form isn't really that hard since we have black hole bomb and (you got lucky with that one shot too, he appeared on it letting you get some plug s. in)tornado, my only problems is magma man and plug man.

  • I find it's easier to dodge the flame attack by Wily if you rest directly beside it, shoot 2 concrete shots, and then run to the left. It should make a really sharp turn immediately after it shoots, and shouldn't even touch half of the area between the left side of the screen and Wily!

  • That's exactly what I do, and I find it to be way safer than jumping over it.

  • Interesting note: If you make Jewel Man take 4 hits from your first Black Hole Bomb, you don't need to hit him with a second one. He'll wait to refill his jewels long enough for you to kill him off.

  • Which order did you do the Robot Master levels in?

    My order was:

    Galaxyman

    Tornadoman

    Magmaman

    Concreteman

    Jewelman

    Hornetman

    Splashwoman

    Plugman

  • To be honest, I don't know. My brother did most of the stages for me. At the time, I was focusing on other challenges like the "Mega Diet," 100% accuracy, and the pacifist challenge. I only did the harder stages/bosses as well as the Wily Stages.

I believe our order went along the lines of:

    Galaxy -> Hornet -> Splash -> Concrete -> Jewel -> Plug -> Tornado -> Magma

(I'm not sure why my brother chose Hornet after Galaxy, but he managed using B. Bomb on the Hornets)

  • I'm impressed. Hornet Man's miniboss is incredibly hard to do without the Tornado blow.

  • i did it the easiest way

    1)Galaxy Man

    2)Jewel Man

    3)Plug Man

    4)Tornado Man

    5)Magma Man

    6)Hornet Man

    7)Splash Woman

    8)Concrete Man

  • it didnt say mr. perfect after you beat him

  • It says it after the credits, he has a video of that.

  • I find the Laser Trident useful with the egg bomb part just 'cause it has a larger hit radius than the Mega Buster and it's a little easier not to miss. Not like you need it for anything else at that point.

  • If you can time the jump right you can hit Jewel Man 4 times with the Black Hole Bomb, and you can kill him in 2 shots. It's not that big a deal, but just in case anyone is interested. :)

  • I think you mean 3 hits, although it wouldn't matter, since at least 2 shots are required to finish off Jewel Man.

    Regardless, you are indeed correct.

  • No see if you can make him jump at the right time, it will hit him when he jumps and when he lands, and when he turns around you can hit him 2 more times the same way. 4 hits.

  • That's how I did it...

  • Hmm never did that before. I'll give it a try later.

Though you still need another B. Bomb in order to finish him off. =]

  • Yeah, you're right. 2 shots, and he dies.

  • Actually, it is a big deal because those black hole bombs can absorb wily's attacks on his third form, extra damage without worry basically. Glad you did mention this though.

  • Finally I DID it, yessssssss. Woooooooo!!

  • this is REALLY helpful, especially for Plug and Wily 3. Mr. Perfect is the only challenge I don't have yet, and I have a save at Wily that's perfect so far.

  • Very good guide! Thanks!

I was pretty sure I could make 3 first stages without taking damage but then I would surely get hit in boss rush... You have some good tips here so maybe it's possible reach Mr. Perfect now!

  • Wily's second form is weak to Concrete Shot? Seems sort of random, but I guess getting concrete inside your vehicle wouldn't be too good for it.

  • It's the same style as using bubbles against that alien in MM2... who would guess he's weak against an almost melee attack?

  • actually, i only noticed the magma man-time attack transition.

  • O.0

  • I have a few safe ideas.

Plug Man: Get in some buster shots before Plug Man comes close enough to actually fire at you. You should get at least 4 shots in, saving one shield.

Jewel Man: Try to hit some of Jewel Man's jewels when he jumps really high. That way, they're less likely to be low enough to hurt you, and he'll have less gems to shoot.

Wily Phase 2: Get Wily as close to the wall as possible when he stomps, and then stand really close him until he fires. His stream won't be able to hit

  • you, because you'll be too far away from the bottom.

*I ran out of text while writing this.

  • I'm stuck on this stage on my Mr. Perfect run. Sure, I don't consistently make it here(I consistently make it to stage 3), but I can.

  • Thanks for the guide. Maybe I'll be able to perfect it.

  • How do you charge the Magma Bazooka so fast?

  • thansk for the guide dude,. great work

  • I noticed the transitions. Still, your performance throughout the entire stage is very impressive. Good job on fighting all bosses. :D

    You can do it! =)

  • Excellent guide! I know you can do it, man! :)
