  • lol this movie doesnt scare me -.- and also the remake one =/

  • Wait, there is an US remake of this movie with Dennis Q or not?

The remake didn't look that scary.

  • Not scary or... makes sense...

    Was boring for me :(

  • Hollybolly is a big uncreative place thieves.stolen originals movies and ideas from whole world!burn zion, burn!

  • hello! i'm asian.. my mother is thai and my father is filipino.. i agree that asians are really great when it comes to movies. especially HORROR movies. we asians don't abuse the power of technology because we like it realistic. "less is more". i don't hate western movies but i think whenever they recreate movies from asia, they tend to exaggerate it. :( i'm sorry, but it makes us laugh about the remakes because it sucks bigtime.

  • Ima watch this today!!! I watched like 20 Asian movies this summer, so I'm used to it. I'm 13 and when I say "I love to watch scary movies, I watched -movie name- last night." my friends think I'm scary and weird.

  • anyone got a link?

  • Y BIEN HOLLYWOOD AGARRO LA PELICULA QUE ESTA SUPER BUENA Y LA CAGARON AL HACERLE EL REMAKE

  • I'm scared D:

  • lol, funny how scared ppl seem to get, it was ok, but really scary ? no.

  • why do i feel like im watching another 'twilight trailer' here???

its scary but i dont get wat it is trying to say TT TT

  • can't wait to see this movie,my favourite is still dark water (japanese of course) but this one really looks F···· up,want kairo in blu-ray!!!!!!!!

  • I'm not going to watch this. I almost shit on my pants with the trailer so I'm not going to take the risk to die with a heart attack watching the movie. This is scary as shit, I'm outta here.

  • llora europa y eeuu , japon es el rey

  • japon es el rey en todo

  • this is the most fucked up and scariest film I have EVER seen! American god damn raped this movie

  • THIS MIGHT MAKES YOU THINK THAT THIS MOVIE IS BAD:

Ive seen it and dont get me wrong. It was scary at some parts but most of the time it was not scary at all and you get the hang of what is going to happen next :( The trailer already shows the best parts. The end kinda disappointed me somehow. Even laughed sometimes.

It was a really good movie and it IS much scarier than most movies but it does not impress a hardcorehorrorfilmfan like me.

Pls somebody tell me a movie that actually scares me :)

  • @ElectroPope

try "Re-Cycle" that's hell of twisted and scary movie

  • @Norbi224466 Thanks man but ive seen that one too :) Liked it very much. Do you know more good ones? Except for ju-on because ive watched that one like 100 times :)

  • @ElectroPope

I am sure you've also seen Shutter, amazing movie! Well what about Tales of Two Sisters, One missed Call, Nightmare Detective and A Slit Mouthed Woman?:D

  • @Norbi224466 Ive seen A slit mouthed woman before but i cant remember it anymore. and ive seen one missed call too :( And ive heard of the others before but they were not appealing to me :) Thanks for the effort btw i may give them a try if i have time :D Do you know the movie [Rec]? pretty awesome

  • @ElectroPope

tales of two sisters and shutter are one of best movies i ever seen in this gengre, they are scaryyy, i really recommended it.

also check: Kans, Marebito, Tamami: Curse of the Baby, Phone, and Bunshinsaba

this movies are also as my favourites:)

  • @ElectroPope

Yes, I've seen Rec. 1st one was quite nice, 2nd was real crap. If you like zombie movies I really recommend: "Dead Set". BEST ZOMBIE MOVIE I EVER SEEN:)

  • @Norbi224466 i did not like rec 2 neither. And dont be upset but ive seen dead set too :D Ive seen like almost every horrormovie thats worth watching i guess :( If i were a director i would make a sick horrormovie but nobody asks me for ideas of cause.

Ive only seen the remake of "Let the right one in" but even though i am not into that stuff it was an really great movie and it was well made. highly recommend it. "Let Me In - Trailer "

  • after looking at the comments, I'm afraid to press play.

  • best horror movie ever, no joke

  • Japanese horror fillms KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ha ha im gonny watch this 2 nite with the lights off

on my own and proper shit myself :)

  • keep in mind, there was no "america" before we got here. it was just land.

...land filled with nomadic people, and other natives who fought over each other and their territories.. The land did not "Belong" to one people. There is no "we were here first" because they were fighting each other anyway. Whites were just the people who won the land.

So no, they are not the "only real americans". I don't know why people have this delusion of natives.

  • The UK and France and countries in Asia I know for sure has been influenced by AMERICAN music like hip hop. and hollywood movies, etc etc..

In fact the uniqe parts of American culture shows it's influence very much throughout the world. all the crazies from other countries going gaga over lady gag.

Which proves, EVEN MORE, that America has just as much culture as any European country that's for sure.. (Obviously). It shouldn't even have to be debated. So take care and live in ignorance ^_^

  • dude im ashamed of being american, our culture is so nasty and fake and greedy. i seriously wanta just move out to another country, but im broke

  • I think the US version was more entertaining and gave more detail, but this movie is like what some said...it F up your mind. Part of it is scary as hell. I don't remember the US version being scary. U left knowing what the US versioni s all about, but you're clueless with the J-version. I generally like Japanese horrors more, but not this one. It's scary, but ya clueless.

  • this movie had some scary parts

but overall this movie doesnt scare you

it just makes you think and fucks up ur mind

all japanese horror movies just fuck up ur head...

  • this is a cool movie

  • This looks ancient but in was made in '01 oO

  • whatch it alone at night! THIS IS THE SHIT !!!!!!

  • I love Japanese Horror (and Korean). They are so good compared t that hollywood trash, the last good horor movie produced in the west was Nightmare on Elmstreet in 1984. Isn't it just sad that they haven't been able to make a decent horrormovie with huge budgets ever since...

  • hehe looks good, im gonna watch it . x

  • This movie is eerie that made me so freaked out. Asians make way better horror! I wish Hollywood would stop making crappy remakes of the originals.

  • Looks like @jprithvi is in the minority here. I wish I could find this at my uni library!

I guess the question comes down to, would you less want to be damaged mentally or physically. Psychological horror gives me the honest-to-god creeps, torture porn and jack-in-the-box Hollywood horror on the other hand only makes me lose the game. Each may prefer their own, but I have an idea which resonates more deeply

  • man i just saw the trailer for both this and the remake trailer and they even used the same camera angles in some of the shots. Lame. I can understand converting the story, but copying the camera shots? That's just lazy. If it aint broke, don't remake it.

  • I Just Took A Shit... It Was Nice

  • This movie is awful. Probably makes more sense if you are Japanese but for me it was tedious, boring and cynical. This isn't a scary movie but more of a social commentary. Film critics thought will love t his kind of crap.

  • jprithvi "this movie is awful" --> Kaïro is a master-piece. The yanks can't appreciate such japanese or european cinema. Too intellectual and sensitive for them.

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 lol? I'm not a yank. But its possible this movie might make more sense if your senstive. It's just not me:/

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 Obviously Euro trash can't appreciate what an "opinion" is, hence the lack of freedom of speech in France, your shit country.

  • @DaFawky "the lack of freedom of speech in France" lol Don't try to compare censorship in USA and France ha ha ha. You yank don't need freedom of speech when the major part of time you have a big mac into the mouth...lol

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 I will compare, because I can. It's much better than France that's for sure.

"mac into the mouth" doesn't even make sense, moron.

  • @DaFawky "It's much better than France" --< what a fucking good argument !!!!

Shit food, ugly girls, no healthcare, uncultured people, yes FATmerica is great !!! Yes, we can !!!! ha ha

"doesn't even make sense" --< engliche isn't my mother tongue. Don't try to make fun of me, you're so stupid that you're unable to speak any foreign language, fat prick. - the mouth full of bigmac- now do you see any sense, Kubiak ?? I think so.

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 There is no argument, it's already known that it's much better than france.

we have the best food, hot girls(unlike hair Frenches), a fine healthcare, the MOST CULTURED people EVER, etc. YES, WE CAN. TRUE.

Yeah, I can tell "Engliche" isn't your mother tongue. LOL.

I speak English some Hawaiian and Okinawan dialect of Japanese, retard.

I'm not even fat, and what the hell is a Kubiak?

You're not making sense at all, so you might as well just shut up.lol

  • @DaFawky "it's already known that it's much better than france" --< another fucking good argument.

"we have the best food" --< are you joking ?

"hot girls" --< ah yes, the ugly brassy blondes with fake boobs and pea-brain ???

"(unlike hair Frenches) --< lol obviously you never met a french girl lol.

"a fine healthcare" --< lol 50 million people without healthcare and 100$ to pay when you see a doctor, let me laugh...

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 Like I said, there's no arguement. The free speech here is much better than France.

We do have the best food, because we have food from all coulture put into one, which has much more variety.

French girls are ugly and hairy, I've seen them. and don't want them.

I can afford it, so I'm just fine with the healthcare system :D

  • @DaFawky "the MOST CULTURED people EVER" --< ha ha fat yanks are known to be the most uncultured people in the world, let me laugh, a half doesn't even know that Europe is a continent and not a country ha ha

"Engliche" --< engliche is a deliberate word to make fun about english.

"I'm not even fat" --< impossible, you're american.

"what the hell is a Kubiak" --< don't you remember Kubiak in Parker Lewis ?? this is american culture ha ha

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 Actually Americans are the most cultured. French people just have one culture, while Americans have their own culture PLUS many other cultures combined. That's more culture than you'll ever have. Your ignorance about American culture doesn't mean Americans don't have culture, it just proves your ignorance about the culture.

Saying "Engliche" just makes you look retarded.

Obviously you don't know much about Americans since you think everyone is fat. LOL,you are probably fat

  • @DaFawky Like speaking with a wall. I stop here.

Have a nice day fat guy.

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 That's because you talk about nonsense. You know nothing about America, and you made yourself look like a dumbass.

There's no fat guy around here.

You probably feel like you are talking to a wall because you are talking to a non-existent fat guy. You're probably projecting your fatness because they dont accept you in France.

I think you are schizophrenic and have something wrong with your sight or something. You might need to get that checked out. I suggest psychotherapy.

  • @DaFawky lol

  • @DaFawky Americans are not the most cultured, sorry to say. They have a mixture of many other countries that MADE UP America. I don't agree with the French dude, but I don't agree with you either. America is way far from being culture in its' own, unique way, like many other countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia etc. I do not want to get involved in an argument, I am just verifying some things to you. Cya pal. :3

  • @PouresMaggie Actually, America is one of the most cultured. And no, many other countries have things that are a combination of other cultures, it's just been so damn long that they don't even know it. (great example, Japanese and Koreans). Don't give me BS that European countries' cultures aren't a mixture of other things. cough*McDonalds*cough.

    cough*Scotland's "fried Pizza"*

So don't worry you have not verified anything, you just proved my point even more. :)

  • @DaFawky The examples were poor. McDonalds are exclusively American, they got more chain stores around the world, simply cause they're popular and sell a lot. I'll use what you said, America is a combination of other cultures nothing more or less. The only true American inhabitants are the Indians long proved and verified, THOSE people had a unique culture. This is my POV which I've longed studied. Take care, dude. (^_^)

  • @PouresMaggie exactly, and European countries are filled with them. Adding on to the mixture of different cultures in Europe. They were great examples actually!

European countries is a combination of other countries around them, it's just been so long that they don't even know it.

Oh no no, white Americans and black Americans are just as American as Indians(We're not obligated to move). Most natives were nomadic people anyway, & some even fought for land. Sono, just cuz whites won means nothing.

  • @AttackTheGasStation1 So one person's opinion turns into "The yanks"? Pretty shallow for someone who considers themselves "intellectual and sensitive". Try addressing the individual and keep your bigotry to yourself.

  • @aelliott40 Generally that kind of comment is coming directly from USA. Sorry if you're chocked.

  • why hollywood is still copying our original horror movies, this one also have the similar one in hollywood, right, they should create their own story, in my opinion, i admit they have high technology and good at making effects, but sucks at creativity !!!!!

  • @aungkyawtun92 SO TRUE. =O

  • @aungkyawtun92 they don´t suck at creativity, they want make lot of money, so, they can´t take risks, they prefer buy or just copy the story, that´s sad

  • @aungkyawtun92 don't worry, we all agree here

  • @aungkyawtun92 This is not only your opinion!!

I really prefere japanese movies than american's!!!

  • @aungkyawtun92

because japanese brains are one of the best of the world :)

  • @aungkyawtun92 jews, They have never had any idea oforiginality, and very few good directors in the U.S.

  • compré hoy la versión americana creo y en el interior viene que es basada en Kairo y definitivamente la original es decir la asiática se ve que está mucho mejor que la porqueria de remake gringo que compré hoy.

  • Jeez.. even the trailer is scary as hell.

  • This I gotta see :D Just love Asian horror movies.. Hope I cant sleep tonight ;D

  • Why can't Godzilla movies be made this good.

  • If your not used to these japanese horror film's (and im not talking about remakes)

    dont watch this

I almost fainted in some scene's

    It dosent rely on

    BOO MOTHERFUKA

    like hollywood does

the atmosphere is so fucked up

after the movie I had the light on for days

  • Thats what makes it so good.

hollywood sucks at making scary movies.

  • @2prize Damn, now I'm scared. ._.

I'm used to Japanese horror films but I'm paranoid still!

  • @2prize i'm so sorry but BOO MOTHERFUKA made me lol and i will watch it

  • @2prize I now agree with you, not a good starting moving

  • @2prize lmao asian horror films started my sleep paralysis disorder. even though i get those i still watch it... i just need someone to watch it with. hollywood horror films are shit compared to asian horror films (thai, jap, korean)

  • This movie was so good, I loved it. I just watched both Kairo and Pulse and in my opinion, Kairo is a far more superior movie.

  • yes , this is my BEST and scariest horror movie ever , and yes , i've seen Thai version of "Shutter" , Alone, 4bia , or Japanese Ring , Ju-On , or Korean A Tale of Two Sisters and A LOT OF Asian horror movies , but "Kairo" still my BEST horror movie . EVER .

  • An "end of the world" movie...I love those movies, contemplative, strange, original, awsome ! To watch that movie at the middle of the night..

    Love Kaïro.

  • this is the only horror movie that has ever made me scream aloud

  • i saw it yesterday....and i totally loved it :D :D

  • ...What happens of your computer is red,and you go on the site?

  • I saw the remake but looks like nothing compare with this! love it

  • One of the all-time greats. The writer/director, Kurosawa Kiyoshi [no relation to Akira] is a one to watch. His other films like Cure and Moonlight Sonata, have been praised by critix, the latter given a good rating by none other > Roger Ebert himself. His film, Sakebi, aka Retribution, is... go check it out. Sayonara!

  • great movie, same league as ringu and ju-on

  • There's so many Forbidden Rooms because every person who go to the website or otherwise has an encounter with a ghost eventually makes a Forbidden Room, and then turns into a black stain, trapped between life and death, trapped by loneliness. So by the time the film ends, most of the population have become black stains.

  • this movie was awesome

but i didn't get the story at all

why were there some many forbidden room's?

and at almost the end of the movie why is the whole city empty?

  • SCREW THAT!!! The Trailer creep me out LOL But I will watch this with sometime.... with other people.

  • It's not that scary as it looks, there's just a constant feeling of fear, like, ominous- it's atmospheric.

  • I agree, many J- horror movies create an "atmosphere" that makes the viewer feel helpless, intimated and lonely. it`s a feeling like one is trapped alone in a dark tunnel. Hard to describe. Those Japanese directors are good!

  • I read somewhere that director Kiyoshi Kurosawa likes to pace his films in such a way as to draw the audience into a trance-like state. This movie definitely achieves that objective. I think it is best watched alone in a quiet, darkened room.

Overall I found it to be exhilarating, depressing, and intellectually stimulating. Not to mention incredibly creepy and affecting.

Pulse is exactly what cinema should be: a total experience.

  • Basically, it creeped you the fuck out too?

  • One of the best horror movie ever made.

Philosophical, deep, and different than any other films.

One of my fav movie since Martyrs, Let The Right One In, Noriko's Dinner Table, Irreversible..

  • Whats better this version or the other one

  • You mean this version or the American remake with Kristen Bell? There's no doubt about it, this version! The American remake doesn't even come close. Infact, the only American remake of J-Horror movie that surpasses the original is The Ring(IMO).

  • I don't even compare the Ring movies to Ringu, they completely took out the psychic element- it's totally different.

  • Comment removed

  • if any1 can name some awesome sick scary movies to me that would be gr8:D i rarely get scared of horror movies since i seen almost all but any tips of movies from year 2000+ would be nice:D

  • this movie was accually depressing.

it made me feel lonly (well maybe thats what the movie is about lol)

  • the movie did it's job for you then. It was filmed to be depressing and sad.

  • I still have my nights where I am in bed, and jsut imagine my computer turning on automaticlally and the words appearing on the screen "Do you want to meet a ghost?"... D: This movie is the best.. BUT SCARY XD

  • in a way the trailer is misleading - if you're expecting yet another film about ghosts or whatever killing people, look elsewhere

this is a top class movie - watch the american remake if you really want to, but it's really crap, like all the remakes

  • this is nothing if u seen the movie for real

  • me puso la piel de gallina... buenisima pelicula

la remake debe apestar, pero los yanquis si que saben armar trailers

  • ooooh looks so scary!!!

    like serious im scared

  • It's an excelleny film. I highly recommend it - along with ORIGINALS OF: The Grudge, Dark Water, The Eye, Ring.

  • Nonsense!

  • looks cooler than the remake

  • ouh fuck that's scary :o

  • al fin consegui eldvd ... oi la veooooo....
