I don't believe Jesse's father ever showed up on the show...I do know that his uncle, Frank Grant (Frankie, Jesse's son, is named after him), was on the show for many years and was married to Nancy.
yes, she was/is the great love of Palmer's life. She was a great mother to Nina & a devoted daughter to Myrna. She had a cat on the show named 'Bonkers' in the very early 80's.
There is very little chance that Darnell would have gotten a British accent. Usually, you get one when your parents are born there but his parents are from NYC, I believe, and he was only over there since his father was stationed there. He grew up in NYC and sounds much more like a New Yorker
Jesse sounds "funny" because he still had his British accent in which he was trying to hide. LOL (He was born in London for those who don't know.) His "American" accent is much better now.
Around 1989 when Dixie and Tad started dating. Opal and Palmer tried to plan to break them up.Sadly that worked. Then they kind of fell for each other. Well, with Daisy's help to refine Opal, teach her how to be more of a lady to spark Palmer's interest.lol
Greg (about Frankie): "How do you know he's yours?" LMAO classic! Greg is great.

Darnell Williams didn't have a British accent to hide. He left Britain by the time he was 7. At the time this was done there was no accent to hide.
