  • Please Hammer, don't hurt'em.

  • just shut up and throw!!!!!!!!! if you love this sport so much, and quit wining. its just like anyother sport. lose the rainbows and unicorns attitude, not everyones your friend.deal with it, i love this sport too but i cant stand people coming into this sport and complaining.

  • less talking, more throwing!

  • Here in South Dakota people are pretty cool on the greens. They will take the time out to help a newcomer. I can't recall any snobs but the ones who bug me are the younger smart ass kids who act pissed that you take your time. They over run your turn - well I guess I like to take my time.

  • kay guys seriously, I don't see any snobbiness in this guy at all: all he's doing is breaking down the components of the throw & showing us the correct technique in much detail. I thought it was a good throw so I don't see what the big deal is. He even stated that it wasn't his best shot so what's all this "oh he's such a hippy snob" crap about? If you don't like the vid, don't watch it! I think expertvillage has done a great job of this video =)

  • I'm really new so this helps a lot. love the sound effects.. ha ha. why is it everyone goes on disc golf videos for beginners and rips on it. I'm a beginer and I just want to have fun. great vid..cha! cha!

  • Is there a better disc than others for this hammer throw, or a tomahawk throw?

  • Is there a disc that is better than others for the tomahawk throw?

  • @liquidooze6 Over stable discs. Firebirds, monsters, max, predator, stuff like that.

  • @liquidooze6 It depends on the flight you're looking for. For something that barrel rolls and flips sooner than later, you want something understable like a Leopard or Roadrunner. If you want it to resist this roll as much as possible, than overstable like a Banshee or xXx are good.

  • There are some snobby disc golfers unfortunately but most I have met, in Oregon, have been super cool and have given me discs when I did not have the right disc in the first place. There are some pros with egos and that is a shame!!

  • I havent met to many snobs on the course but i will say there are some people who take it very serious. I live the dfw area. There are more than 50 parks here so i run into pro players from time to time. Usually they are pretty cool. Well only if you let them play through. I like mob golf so we usually have to anyway.I think every sport has some ass holes but disc golf has the least.

  • This guy is the broest bro in the history of brodom.

    He's got it all:

-One of those necklaces with a whatchamacallit

    -Sideburns

-A little bit of a belly, probably from all the brewskis

    -Crocs

    -Playing frisbee golf

    -CHA

    -CHA

  • Yea it's a lot easier to switch the direction by switching between a Tommy and a Thumber. And no, you DON'T step Right with Right. That's dumb. Throw it like a baseball, with the same kind of wrist action as you would get with pitching, and you'll have success with this shot.

  • its a tomahawk this guy is a retard

  • HAHAMONGNA!

  • this video is definatly for begginers!!

  • right hand, right foot? Has this guy ever walked?

  • why the hell would you step forward first with your right foot if you throw right handed. you step with left and follow through right

  • I love this guy. I'd play a round with him.

  • this dude is kinda an idiot. O_o

  • lol that's Tomahawk throw -.-

  • hahah this guy sounds like coach mcgurck from home movies lol

  • this is a CHA throw. hahahah. this guy is awesome

  • archimedesjs!!!!! spot on!!!!! i gave up my clubs for discs this year cause i cant stand the bull that comes from the players in "ball golf".

  • cha cha

  • Having trouble breathing? A real Disc Golfer is in good condition...Get into shape DUDE...

  • disc golf is regular golf, ohhhhhhh you mean ball golf.....

    its okay little fella.

  • whats with the string atttached to him

  • @nickmorganmusic That part of his microphone set up...

  • u said step with yer right foot....you stepped with yer left...DURRR

  • "This is a cha throw" lmao

  • HAHAAHHAHAHA!!!

  • it's a tomahawk. the hammer aka (thumber) is the same throwing motion but you have the disc flipped around with your thumb in the rim.

  • This guy is clueless. Every disc golf instructional video has been worse than the one they created before. Get rid of this garbage nonsense.

  • im with secondbest it is a tomahawk or a thumber lol

  • That was terrible... a real hammer throw soars up close to a hundred feet in the air

  • CHA CHA CHA CHA

  • has this guy ever heard of a thumber or a tomahawk, does he really need to re-name it cause it has a slight angle on it.

  • a hammer throw and a tomahawk are the exact same throw. everbody i know calls it a hammer throw. idk what he was takin about with the little wrist motion though.

  • Is this Dr. Steve Brule's son?

  • Holy shit dude, I was just thinking that. I keep expecting him to say "For your health" at the end of each video

  • This throw has similar characteristics to a thumber but has a different delivery and is probably a much shorter range. Flick : Forehand as WilliamBro : AngryDouche And JamesTheOracle it's Disc Golf not 'Frisbee.' Frisbee is a brand of flying discs commonly associated with recreational activities other than disc golf.

  • u had a dictionary didnt u lol

  • williambro pay attention to the video its not a tomahawk. The disc is released vertically when thrown in a tomahawk overhand form, this the throw is purposely turned horizontally and released downward which doesn't make it a tomahawk and alters it's direction and trajectory

  • THIS IS A TOMAHAWK THROW NOT HAMMER!

  • wow i didnt know frisbee golfers were so angry, at least the guy in the vid was chilled out,

  • That's actually hilarious. I always associated disc sports with hippies, and chill people. I've ran into more disc golf snobs, elitists, and pompous assholes than I thought existed. Just look at the majority of comments on these disc golf videos. Most are guys saying they can throw farther than whatever guy in whatever video, or are just critical to be critical. I love this sport, and I enjoy playing it very much. There are a lot of chill people who play, but the snobs ruin it for me.

  • Just for the record the "chill" hippies" ruin it for people who throw competitively the typical "chill" people throw beer cans anywhere convenient for them besides the trash cans bring drugs to the courses and just play disc golf to get outside and smoke weed and etc. last week I found syringes in a plastic bag at a tee pad With that being said its vice versa theres also really chill stereotypical hippies who play competitively but have enough common courtesy to show some respect

  • There is a difference between having respect for the course, and being intentionally rude to people. The majority of people that I have seen throwing litter were meat head frat boys. They are the same people I see get mad and ruin trees, signs, etc. when they mess up a toss.

I didn't write what I wrote to point fingers. You can play competitively without being an a-hole. If you cannot, then maybe you should choose another sport. Or don't be upset when somebody takes offense and lays you out.

  • @archimedesjs I agree with your comment but these "expertvillage" videos just piss people off. There's always so many bases they haven't covered. "Today we're gonna teach you how to putt. You're gonna want to grip your disc, grab your nuts, scream like Michael Jackson, flip the disc out of your hands and 'CHANG!!'.. It helps to use sound effects.."

  • true. apparently all they like to do is complain or say they could do better.

  • It was not your best option idiot! You suck.

  • He's like a young Steve Brules! Ten cool points to anyone who knows what I'm talking about.

  • for your health!!

  • Haha awesome! Just put some vinegar on it, why didn't you think of that?

  • i hope i run into your sorry ass at oak grove. your a chode!

  • u suck faggot

  • Worst...teacher...ever.

I'd like to know his rating. I play in Am3 and I'm not half as retarded as this guy.

I honestly don't think this guy has ever touched a disc in his life and he's just reading his lines.

  • i agree this dude is a wanna be stoner type

  • yeah, this guy's a joke. his other videos blow too

  • And your a Douche.

  • I can't get my tomahawk to flip, I use a thumber more, maybe I'll try to "cha" it

  • Oak Grove ! nice cha buddy

  • CHA! CHA!

  • its not a hammer throw. its called a fucking tomahawk

  • word dude, word. And it is badass.

  • i dunno i was raised with it as a hammer. As the saying goes "What time is it???? HAMMA TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • Same fucking thing. two names for the same throw.

  • hammer, tamohawk. whatever, Ive heard it called like 7 different names depending on what region of the country you are from.....so settle the fuck down Chavez.

  • Even he's smart enough (or dumb enough) not to follow his own advice. At 1:42 he steps with his left foot to throw.

  • I know a tomahawk as a "thumber" personally but anyways, this guy doesn't seem to know what he's doing regardless. The throw doesn't seem to follow the action he suggests. I would go with a thumber instead of a "cha" throw.

  • a "thumber" is a different shot than a tomahawk. The thumber is a tomahawk but the disc is flipped around with you thumb on the inside of the disc. Basically the same thing but turns the other way when you throw it. But I agree the guy doesn't know what he is doing

  • for ass sakes....WHY DO THEY HIRE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING

  • this dude sucks penis and whats that trailing behind is he micked up playing with some 50 cable.??

  • Too funny...!

    So wrong!

    :-)

  • A thumber throw has the thumb inside the rim. A hammer throw has the index/middle finger inside the rim. The direction (left or right) the top of the disc is facing will determine the manner in which the disc will turn.

Aside from being an awful dg video, it's also incorrect.

  • paaaathetic!!!

  • lame

  • No no, I change my mind. the worst thing he said is to step forward with the same hand that your throwing with. I think he just made that up.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, it's usually a "good thing" if you find your disc.

No one listen to this guy please. He will only cause to you play worse and get higher scores. Also, making sound effects to mimic shots is the STUPIDIST thing I've EVER heard.

  • total retard

  • I have never tried that shot.

I usually put my thumb on the rim. I use an over-stable light disc. The 150 Flick is the best. I get solid results. To have an overhand game is just plain wise.

  • what a tool

  • First of all...it's not "regular golf" it's ball golf. The rules of golf apply to any medium.

Secondly, you said you step in the wrong way then you threw the right way. Either you're committing a foot foul...or you're Canadian.

  • steping forward with the same foot as the one when throw when you release? Thats REDICULOUS

  • have you thought about talking to a local pro and actually learning these throws before trying to teach them? please stop. you're going to wreck someone's game if they try to learn from you.

  • classic

  • that called a tomahawk

  • i agree. im a hammer thrower in track and field. and i thought this things was gonna simulate the hammer release in my throws.....i was wrong. :(

  • everything is decent, only glaring error is the step. right hand, left foot. left hand, right foot. not only is this more natural to the thrower it also allows the body to move more freely. rolling a disc is another option

  • why doesn't he say HAMMA TIME instead of cha!

  • cut your hair ,,,,,,real men throw thumbers fuck the hammer!!!!

  • and...if you throw with your right hand it is better to step in with your left(like you did eventhou you said it backwards). The reason behind this, is that you open up your body.Same as when you do a side arm, right handed step in with your left.

  • throws** =]

  • hate to break it to you bwhit11, but those thrown are commonly known by both names, hammer=tomahawk, flick=forehand, so now whos the ignorant disc slut? oh yea, you are

  • lol he didnt even step with his right leg

  • The terms flick and forehand are synonymous, as are the terms tomahawk and hammer.

  • although i've never heard the term flick, hammer and tomahawk are both widely used terms and both are correct.
