Im a girl, ive been playing lacrosse. Guys is much harder though! Even though they have a pocket, they have to be SUPER FAST, and they get hit all the time? and run with pads on them. I understand that we girls have no pocket, but our game isn't physical or we dont run with much on other than googles, so you cant complain its hard cause theres not pockets. Guys lax is harder.

heres the thing tho, while guys may have a pocket- girls cant check each other. so you dont have to worry about poke checks, wrap checks, body checks etc. and ground balls aren't as vicious as girls.

sure its harder to cradle but it only takes a little practice. i played in a girls game where the girls had guys sticks, guys had girls sticks. hard as hell to shoot, but passing and cradling wasn't bad.

i play girls lacrosse ages 4-8 and i can tell u that boys may have contact but girls do not have pockets

@Imdoinfinethanks its not skill... i play mens and also mixed which is like womens i.e. womens stick, no contact etc. so ive played without a pocket on the stick and i can tell you mens requires more skill, simply cos its more physical and much faster. yeah its easier to retain the ball with a mens stick but its a lot harder to get nearer to goal what with the d poles. offence requires some strategy. im still gonna play mixed but you just try mens full contact and see the difference.

@beelzenef123 the reason why you dont have a pocket is because you dont get hit. the only time that you need a pocket is when your getting rocked by a huge kid. hitting is not the only way to get the ball. you have to be able to knock the ball out by using your stick and positioning with your team. call me when you can keep a ball in your stick with no pocket when getting hit trust me on that

One of the great things about the girl's game is that it does involve a lot of finesse, although it has definitely gotten more physical in the past several decades. There's no need to make women's lacrosse a carbon copy of the men's game (which is great, too) -- they have developed in somewhat different directions and there's no problem with that.

Solid offensive skills is all you need in Lax,you dont have to think about anything else on the field except the Strategy.The fundamentals just come easy cause its drilled in your skull.These drills also will prevent you from dislocating your wrist on a "one time" shot.Boring but essential!
