I see what you are saying but mind that I was in town for businessv (I live in Mexico) and could not let this opportunity to pass. In addition to taking this private class I also made it to some of his normal classes which were pretty awesome as well. Interestingly, the warm up portion was superb!
Imho not very useful taking private classes after having trained for only 3 months. You don't really gain anything that you wouldn't get from just going to normal class and rolling with random people. Maybe after 3 years when you hopefully have a good idea about the techniques and principles involved, someone like Marcelo can give you good advice on how to improve.
marcelo is interesting to watch. he doesn't do any crazy techniques but his base is solid and he makes transitioning to anything he wants look effortless.
If you listen carefully to the conversation in the background, you can hear a woman explaining the monthly fees to train at Marcelo Garcias school to some guy.
@lickmyfart - hahaha not really bro, just living on a dime for a while enough to be able to roll with him; I´m not that often in the US / NY, so it was a "now or never" situation; I also attended 3 regular classes (no charge), it was simply awesome; of course the instruction is second to none & the facilities are world class.
@segura9 WOIW! Such a lucky man you are! :-) Congrats on experiencing something so many of us would give almost anything, to do. I hope you are still able to train? Keep rolling and best of luck to you. :-)
Mizuno is a major Japanese Judo Gi brand. Almost all the Japanese Judo players wears it. If I'm not wrong, Marcelo Garcia is wearing the model called Jimmy Pedro Advantage. I think the only Bjj gis that Mizuno makes is the one with Rickson Gracie. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for posting this video.

A little constructive criticism: you're not nearly active enough when he mounts you.

@EvolutionaryLoophole -Tell me about it; been working a lot on that; I think if we roll again I could survive 1 or 2 more seconds

I hear that, dude. Keep up the work. I'm jealous that you got a private with him.

Yep, he told me it was a gift from one of his overseas students. It fitted him a little long in the sleeves though
