hi there young man just a quick question for you my dwarf is about a year old and squeaks very quietly in her enclosure while shes sleeping/resting do you know why that is ? she seems happy she is always on her wheel but when she settles into her grass house she squeaks im a worrier help thank you :)
what if i had a teddy bear hamster ( he is a baby) for like 2 months, and then i get an adult dwarf hamter. would the tedy bear one ( the one i got first ) kill the other one? -please answer (im a noob at hamsters)
Why do you use a water bowl, like the water bottle is better because it does not get dirty. I guess none of your hamsters drowned. Also with a bottle you do not have to change the water every day. You can buy it at your local pet stores.
Water bottles work more then "just as well" as a water bowl. The water doesn't get dirty, they have bottles in pet stores, etc. I assume you've never had a hamster that has drown trying to drink from a water bowl?
@CorbinDCreptiles Oh i see. It just looks like it gets dirty so quick... i'm a clean freak so i'd be up at 3:00 am changing the water. Btw, where did you get the hamster wheel? I've been looking around online (walmart, petsmart, petco) and i can't find it.
i have a russian dwarf hamsater 1 day ago and its scared of me,,,do you know how to relax them???? and my hamster wont drink, do you know how to fix that?
@paocruz08 I don't know of a sure fire way to tame them, but im sure if you just take him out and handle him for 5 minutes everyday he/she will tame down.
Make sure you pick the hamster up by putting your hand under it and lifting him up, that might help.
@paocruz08 When they're adults, they get aggressive, yes. But that's only cause they'll see you as an intruder. I've had my siberian dwarf hamster for a little over a year. I got him when he was 4 weeks old. And he didn't bite at first but now he does. But what i'd recommend is giving your dwarf hamster attention every day that way, he won't bite as much. Like, Diago (my dwarf) never really bites since he gets attention every day. Hope this helped you out a little.
I'm thinking about getting a Chinese or Siberian dwarf hamster soon and needed information about how to take care of them, so thanks for the video! It was very helpful. :)
in every hamster cage should be a wheel, which is big enough. the cages are not very big for holding so much dwarfs in. a cage for ONE dwarf should at least be 80x50cm long. why are you breeding them, anyway?
Thx!

BlackOakStudios 6 months ago
@BlackOakStudios as long as they're used to a water bowl you don't have to worry about drowning.
