@Hybrid259 if you look a little bit into the history of the Abrams in the Gulf War it survived multiple hits AT close range from iraqi tanks and also survived hits from Other Abrams firing M829A1 "Silver Bullet" APFSDS Armor Piercing Sabot round also one Abrams tried to Destroy another one that couldnt get out of the mud as ordered by command and couldnt destroy it and the tank in the mud had to abanded until 2 abrams recovery vehicles could show up to pull it out. Dont think a challenger could.

Challenger 2 is tons better than Abrams in terms of combat efficency. It's pretty much fact. Challenger 2 has a rifled barrel, which means that it's more accurate, It's armour is pretty much indestructible.

And when you put it down to how many Abrams Vs Challengers were destroyed in combat? Abrams are destroyed everyday. Only 1 Challenger 2 tank has been destroyed in combat, and that was a friendly fire incident. A Challenger 2 in the Gulf took 70 RPG hits, and drove away.

Of course, because of the sheer numbers of Abrams on the battlefield, they are deemed the better tank. There arn't that much Challengers seen in combat because they're so expensive, and there arn't alot on the battlefield. I would say, in combat, a Abrams Vs Challenger? The Challenger would win, better armour, better sights, better gun.

@Hybrid259 better sights really, all western mbts have basically the same sights, better gun the abrams smoothbore 120mm has better penetration and its about the ammo and the us had the best ke rounds, namely the m829a3 and armor on the chally 2 is better than the m1a1, but the m1a2 that combines chopham and du plates with a kevlar mesh make it the most protected tank on the battlefield, and numbers count for something espically with modern tanks as powerful as the abrams

Not exactly, The M1A2 and the M1A1 use a previous version of the Challenger's armour. The Challenger uses Chobbam MkII, which is supposedly top secret. Abrams use Chobbam Mk1 along with other composites. But really the most, urban-combat proof tank is the Challenger. Abrams get bogged down and destroyed by conventional anti-tank weapons to easily. I don't know how many times I've said this in similar vid's, but a Challenger 2 drove away after being hit by 70 RPGs.

@Hybrid259 i know that the chally2 uses dorchester armor and the abrams uses older chopham, but the abrams like i said also has du plates and a kevlar mesh that add more total protection than just dorchester armor, that myth of the chally2 taking hits from 70 rpgs is an internet rumor, abrams have never been destroyed by rpgs, they have been damaged and knocked out, but never destroyed, and the chally doesnt have a remote controlled 50 cal and a cannister type round for infantry
