The point was that the so called "jet propped discs" were only mockups set up to suggest that the discs what people were seeing were ours and not extraterrestrial technology with the intent that the people that saw it would leak that information. To promote false information.
The jet discs in the episode were nothing more than props.

All these "advanced" aircraft are really disappointing. In the end they're still wings, with suck and blow jet engines. Even the flying saucer shaped ones fly using the same laws of physics. I'm an aircraft mechanic and I dream of the day these loud flying pigs are flown for the last time and replaced with a true advanced craft utilizing a propulsion system that's much more efficient and quieter. I'm sure I'll be long gone by then.

THE BEST IDEA I HAD EVER SEEN WAS A PLAN TO MAKE AN ELEVATOR INTO A SPACE STATION .
THEY ARE TRYING TO DEVELOPE A CABLE, TO RUN FROM THE GROUND UP.
IT HAS TO BE STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE PULL FROM ORBIT AND WOULD TURN WITH THE EARTHS ROTATION LIKE A KITE(sort of).
the elimination of the huge amounts of fuel, WOULD ALLOW FOR UNLIMITED TRIPS, FOR DELIVERY OF EQUIPMENT AND PEOPLE.
