Haunting and melodic, a real journey of angst and introspection but somehow the song progresses in such a way that it offers the listener glimmers of self-rejuvenation towards the end. Ashcroft's oscillating voice has so much raw emotion attached to it which I find is complimented brilliantly by McCabe's subtle tyet sublime guitar work. This is a real hidden classic not just for fans of the verve but for fans of real meaningful music. A masterpiece that conioussers will savour. Incredible!!!!

the verve are my favourite band with no contest, a storm in heaven is my favourite albumn of all time, but this song is stand alone, it's absaloubtly amazing, i can't even put it into words. the wailing distant guitar behind the jangling acoustic at the begining, the whole song creeps up on you, the chorus has such an impact... makes me sad they didnt release an albumn between northern soul and a storm in heaven with more stuff like this on! i love the verve.

Bullshit! compaire the whole back catalogue of suede to the verve and suede win's every time. Go search for the living dead and my dark star. Both those songs were b sides. I admit both ashcroft and Andersons solo work is a little poor. But then so is the verves new album the only good song is sit and wonder. You only slate anderson cuz it was never cool to like suede.
