If it's asking for a password, you need to be asking the person who compressed the file what the password is. There's no "one password fits all" word you can type in to make it open...

ok i downloaded the 7-zip program but when i click on the Rar file it dosent give me the option of extract with 7 zip , it just the normal thing open , open with , send to , share deleted , etc

Some rar do ask for a password but if it dose its usely have the password some where on the website. But if it dose not have no password on the website then it dose not need one.

How come the first time the extension became part**.rar but the second time it became .r** - You did it the same way both times didnt you ? both times you chose extract here. I would like to learn how to make files with extension .r** instead of .part**.rar - dunno if I can do that with winrar? The problem is I want to be able to make video samples from a rar part by renaming it to .vob - but somehow I can only do that when the extension is .r** not when .part**.rar

I downloaded 7zip as per your instructions. However when I right click on the .rar file, 7zip doesn't appear. When I open up the 7-zip file that was installed, it shows lang, 7z, 7zFM, 7zG & Uninstall.

HELP PLEASE ! I have downloaded a movie which is split into 7 parts and when I try to extract it, it comes out as an avi.file and when I try to play it, nothing comes up. Please help ! It doesn't break down into parts like your one did !

@XDSeanaghostXD You could try what im trying now, i downloaded a video and it didnt go into seperate clips but into a folder so i am converting the avi to an mp4 you can use any video converter which is a free download and converts most things for me and it converts into heaps of video and audio files which is good :D you can try it and see what happens :D
