  • my truck looked exactly like that before i restored it check out my vid

  • LOL it has got a brand new USED carb o.0

  • dude timing timing timing

  • ford

    found

    on

    red neck

    driveway

  • I know this is a old vid but was the firing order off or just the timing?

  • @NOLIMIT69NOLIMIT2000 Filter in the Carb.. Cleaned that and it runs fine, until it gets clogged again. junk in the fuel line.

  • sounds like a fuel problem

  • wow did you ever think to check your timing before messing up another carb

  • carb backfiring is npt good fo the carb

  • no ford means fixed or repaired daily or found on the road dead!

  • Ford--Fixed Or Repaired Daily

  • Listen you idiot, if it backfiring trough the carb then check the timing, and why didnt you just buy a new carb like an edelbrock and check you fuel preesure, you dumb ass

  • sounds to me like your losing pressure..... not a whole lot, but enough.

  • my uncle got 77 that runs alot better than that but he hasnt done a thing to it since he got it

  • What year is that truck? Looks to me like a 73, 74, or 75 model. What engine does it have? From the video, it looks like a 360 0r 390 FE Big block V-8.

Gotta tell ya, I like the sound that those older Ford Starters make when you crank them.

Here is what FORD stands for. Its an acronym for "Fixed Over Reconditioned Dodge"

  • Actually it measn Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge lol. But i love Ford

  • if you cant afford a dodge...dodge a ford...lol.

  • Ford - Fucked On Race Day, Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge, Found On Roads Driving.

  • feeds on rock diners

  • yeh um you can actually start your truck on fire if it backfires like taht i would suggest getting it fixed re do the timing then she will love you again

  • Yeah, that's why I wasn't cranking it too hard... A buddy of mine had an International Harvester that backfired like that... It almost burnt down...

  • The timing is way out of adjustment.Get a timing light and set it to spec with the vacuum advance line to the distributor disconnected and plugged.

You'll probably have to turn the distributor some by hand first to get it to idle.If you turn it some (like half an inch) one way and it runs worse, go back the other way a 1/4 inch at a time until it runs good enough to use the light.

    And..DON'T..hammer battery cables on...

    Good Luck

  • Have you messed around with the electrics yet? From what it sounds like to me now it could be a bad vac leak. Mine sounded like this when I started it after the rebuild and it would kick over and die like this but I had the carb gaskets on wrong so it sounded like it was sucking air and killing the enigne check those gaskets and vac hoses running to the carb to see if thats the prob. at least you know it is getting fuel now so one prob is eliminated. good luck little by little its comming.

  • Now that sounds like it could be it... I still haven't had time to check electric... It does suck a lot of air... hmmmmm...

  • Did you check your dist. cap for cracks or carbon? Make sure your timing is correct too.

You might want to think about doin a compression check to see if ya got a burnt or damaged intake valve.

Most likely though, this sounds like a worn out camshaft....sorry dude.

  • I checked the Dist cap, and it was as good as new.. Almost scary like... I am going to get my uncle to check the timing (he has a timing light and I don't)... If it's either of your other two options I know a little old man who is going to get a half ton Ford crammed someplace very uncomfortable.

  • Scary like he already tride what yer tryin? uh-oh....

Cam jobs arn't that bad! did a few of them back when i was racin street stocks, 4- hours or so, mabe two six packs? your all set with da Pizzah. always put a new double roller timming chain in when doin a cam!

  • Yeah, I'm starting to wonder... Granted the thing has the documents saying it only has 40,000 miles on it, but you know.. Still kind of scared about this... I am finding a lot of new parts that it seems like I'm hitting as I go to fix stuff... Time and tinkering will tell...

  • oooohh fire Nikki likey. :)

  • LOL..If it was coming out of someone elses car, I would think it was cool too...

  • Cool, ya got up some new vids!

Now ta bust yer nuts fer beatin that new battery terminal! Do ya want to break the damm seal on the terminal post so it corrodes?

  • I have more coming..

Old habits die hard... I think that's why I have the new terminal... lol..

  • Bakin soda cleans the corrosion good.

    (or just don't beat em)

  • LOL.. I've used the baking soda trick before... I still have to change the connectors on Lisa's truck...

  • Like the word of the day (legs)...

spread the clamp open..don't beat it on!

(now go and spread the word)
