We won't have banks, politicians, pointless 9 to 5 jobs, very few car-like contraptions, but we will have abundant antigravity craft and a few trains, lots of indigo, crystal and rainbow children schools.
Yes, it is a classic story. So, its a solid story. And this in the movie Avatar is great. The Movie is maybe the best I ever seen.

This is hands down the best movie I have ever seen in my life. I'm totally getting this on Blu-ray, a friend offered to give me a pirated copy, but I refused because James Cameron deserves every single cent he can earn from this masterpiece.
When I watched this in the cinema, I didn't have a second of doubt that these creatures were not real. They just look fantastic.

I went to see Avatar, thought it was pretty good, not as good as everyone made it out to be, but the story was rather mediocre, that's not why everyone goes to see the film though.
WOW, now that is a movie I could watch over and over again! It really had a great message and awesome actors! I love that I can watch it whenever I want on

Also, a little something interesting (...nerdy) I found is that the video uses a music cue from command and conquer: generals. It starts at 0:56 and continues for a little (it's really quiet). Avatar is a going-native story, and, like all going-native stories, it follows a formula that we're all familiar with. But that doesn't change the fact that Avatar's story is imaginative, well-told, and packed with emotion.

Also, Avatar was written WAY before the Alive In Joburg (what district 9 is based off, so even that is not original) but over 10 years. Get your facts right
THANK YOU... It's impossible to make any story with every plot element 100% original. Look at the Da Vinci Code. Nothing that is alleged or depicted in the movie is original ideas by Dan Brown... I was a bit disappointed and felt like they showed 'most of the scenes' during the promotions and publicity so much that nothing more was 'left' as a 'surprise element'.
The film makers should avoid showing exclusive clippings otherwise the viewer's shall not feel that involved while 'watching and enjoying' the movie.
It kills the excitement. Dont forget the media circus runs 24/7 and they shamelessly keep on repeating the same thing again and again.
James Cameron wrote the script back in 1995 so unless he traveled to the future to know the story of 10,000 BC (which was a crappy movie btw), I highly doubt he ripped the movie off.

@DomWogboy they never said in the movie he was from America they just said he was in the Marines and there are foreigners in the Marines and anyone could pass a citizenship test and best movie ever if you haven't seen it you should just read all the reviews about it and it actually feels like your in another world when you watch it in 3D definitely a must see

I was a bit disappointed and felt like they showed 'most of the scenes' during the promotions and publicity so much that nothing more was 'left' as a 'surprise element'.
The film makers should avoid showing exclusive clippings otherwise the viewer's shall not feel that involved while 'watching and enjoying' the movie.
It kills the excitement. Dont forget the media circus runs 24/7 and they shamelessly keep on repeating the same thing again and again.

James Cameron wrote the script back in 1995 so unless he traveled to the future to know the story of 10,000 BC (which was a crappy movie btw), I highly doubt he ripped the movie off.

great graphics, but aren't these guys spending a lot of money to get a mineral that they could probably get elsewhere.
Besides, i'm sure that the GOV would have a lot more regulations on interplanetary contact like that, cuz who knows it they were allied with another alien race that was more powerful than us.
Also, i doubt that our first intention in finding an alien world would be to mine it, when its completely inhabited by aliens (smart ones as well). We'd be on a biology field-day

Firstly, they just said that it's RARE, and it's found in large deposits here.
Sencondly, It's like the mining companies here, they'll destroy protected areas just to get minerals.
Thirdly, the people who came here first were a millitary mining company, what'd you think they'd do? Plus., the air is toxic so they couldn't study there anyway.

The moon is the only known source of a mineral that shouldn't even exist (hence unobtanium) which would be the future of human civilization and allow for technologies that would normally be impossible. RDA (the corporation) has the government by the balls so they can't do or say shit. And finally, the only reason a starship of that scale and speed was able to be built in the first place was because of that mineral. No, the idea for the twin engines you are thinking of were most likely lifted from Terminator's hunter killer, which wouldn't you know Jim Cameron created = ) In fact Halo does nothing but rip off Aliens, another James Cameron movie.
