  • ese es un maestro de la guitarra clasica y es tan hermosa la hermosa melodia del el gran maestro bach

  • John William's version is fantastic but I enjoy Bream's more. He puts so much work into proper timbre, it really shows at 1:17 and adds a lot of emotion to the piece.

  • @avianbc Honestly the timbre on 1:17 is awful. Julian Bream is an amazing guitarrist, but right there his sound was quite ugly, really dry, not full and rich like in John williams version (even thought he plays a little oo fast imo). Of course this is just my opinion, so no hate :)

  • @Joao21lima of course if they recorded it 20 years appart

  • That last pic was definately a pedo smile

  • one of the most fantastic piece for play

  • you suck . .why too quick???bad and . .. you are not bream bastard .a voice from greece

  • check out blind virtuoso iona gandrabur playing this

  • @jes1able Where?

  • easily the best

  • @peterbomba You should listen to John William rendition of this piece. Its absolutely inhuman, the best piece ever.

  • Amazing! Also, you all may have heard Barrueco´s version of this prelude; in the last E major cadence he plays this lot of ornaments that blows me away! Oh, Bach!

  • Nobody plays it quite like Julian.

  • Breams is awesome. But i find it a bit too fast. Galbraith has a very good version of this.

  • Thanks for posting !

Bream s colour and musicality is second to none, although I believe here he is just a tiny bit fast.

  • Grazie Julian semplicemente mevariglioso

  • De las mejores interpretaciones de este preludio que he escuchado ( para mi gusto). Un gran gran maestro.

Gracias tambien por poner el vídeo.

  • I totally agree with Syltring! Today, the younger guitarists play too fast and loose so much musicality. I love listening to Bream. He is so musical.

  • This recording by Bream of this piece is unsurpassed till the present day

  • @Syltring10 Sure, but Jason Vieaux e.g. is coming close, great musician there! On the other hand I dont think we should compare just enjoy different interpretations !

    =))

  • @Syltring10 I think that John Williams has the best version by far.

  • I like this Bream version more. I feel that most players play this prelude too quick.... I think Bream has the right tempo for this piece....

  • @tomophirwedge I agree with you . Filomena Moretti's version is not bad too !!

  • It's not known with certainty whether Bach composed for the lute or for the keyboard instrument he had built because he could not play it but loved the sound. Doesn't matter does it?

  • @petersuki i think most of Bach's Lute SUite are composed for the lautenwerck,it's a keyboard that sounds like a lute, maybe it's the strings,,you can listen to some of his works played on lautenwerck in wikipedia :)

  • Great Music!

  • excelent master

    *****

  • bream plays the lute, also it was common during the baroque times to make arrangements for other instruments, Mr.Bream just adapted it to todays modern guitar.

  • I have this on cassette tape! Wonderful. I'm glad to read what needs to be said about baroque adaptions of music- there are many versions of Bach (WTK especially) on Youtube - not always to the purists' taste.
