you can use tokens to make a hat faster, heres how: sense the new update came out to where you can use 3 items to make a token,use that token by it's self and crft it to make a reclaimed metal,next do same thing untill you have 3 reclaimed metals,if you do that untill you have enough for a random hat you should only use.......... a total of: 36 items........for a specific hat: 45 items.

Also if you combine 3 slot tokens (regardless of what type) it will make reclaimed metal. Nowadays it uses more items but it can be much faster than the typical combining class weapons.

(by the way, they have deacresed the limit to 3 weapons for a token)

example: equalizer + pain train + buff banner = Soldier token

Heavy token + melee token = K.B.G

There is actually an easier way to acquire a class token for a class you haven't unlocked everything for, yet. If you combine a class token with an item from a different class, you receive a new class token for the item's class.

My plan is to combine four heavy items to make a heavy class token, then combine that with my buff banner to make a soldier token, which I will use to finally unlock the Direct Hit.

@bluelink34 you get items randomly, or you can get them by getting class milestones (get a certain amount of acheivments to earn a milestone, which counts toward your acheivment count, there are 3 milestone per class). its not very common to get items, i seem to get them more often by killing lots of players, or another option would be to go to an acheivment server. however, unless you get a class milestone, it is not assured you will get a specific class item, or one you haven't already got.

To craft a scrap metal you only need 3 weapons used by the same class, they dont have to be identical.

Crafting with slot tokens is very useful, when you craft the class token by rebuilding a class token from another class. For example I crafted the Gunboats by rebuilding a medic token into a soldier token (Just craft any soldier weapon with the medic token), and then crafting it with a slot token and a scrap metal.

Well, now that there are multiple weapons for certain classes on a sertain slot, it is not usless. For instance, the pyros HomeWrecker, Or the Hevys chocolate bar, which I forgot the name to.... Your last point is rubbish. Simply imagine you wanted any other Medic weapon than the Kritzkrieg, and there is your use for the Medic Token. Who the hell said you have to use another bunch of secondary weapons for the Slot Token? I for instance could have crafted the ubersaw with me four Kritzkriegs.
