Why the best people have always to die? :( I LOVE JOHN I LOVE PAUL I LOVE BEATLES...I wish they were together now,in 2011,what a shame! This is the destiny, but so bad,so sad :( :( Paul had wrote a song FULL OF LOVE and I'm sure John is proud of it and proud of his best friend, and he still love Paul only if he's in heaven :)
"The Lennon Prophecy," by Joseph Niezgoda reveals that Lennon himself, obsessed w/ the occult, magic, numerology & being bigger than Elvis Presley, confided in his friend Tony Sheridan of making a pack with Satan. The "death clues" long associated w/ Paul McCartney were actually subliminal messages hinting at Lennon's ultimate fate, a self-fulfilling prophecy for his greed for fame & wealth under Satanism, yet a deserved death for his publicly avowed anti-Christian hatred.
I have a similar story to the song My friend didn't die though, she just decided she did want to be my friend anymore and she just left and she was my BEST friend untill the summer of 09' we knew each other since we were in pampers! we became best friends in kindergarten, She taught me alot of pranks and she taught me how to draw so good, with out her i wouldn't be the funny jokester i am now..
I STILL LOVE JOHN AND GEORGE WITH ALL MY HEART! PEACE AND LOVE! <3
John is still looking over paul, correcting his wrongs, still loveing him, walking and talking about him with god, enjoying it all, Paul and John were just, soul mates, with out them there would have been NO beatles! and we know who to blame for johns death.... Im sorry paul...
"Here Today," was based on a song Paul wrote for John. he refers to "the night that we cried." a night in Florida when he & John spent a nigh didn't know what to do with it, so we stayed up all night talking, and at some point early in the morning, I think we must have touched on some emotional points, and ended up crying,
Paul says they probably ended up talking about losing their mothers at a young age.--NPR
When I saw him perform in Boston it was the same, it was so hard not to ball my eyes out. A very powerful and touching performance/song by a magnificent musician. Everyone misses you John, Thanks for the great music!!!!
The worst thing is that John was only forty! He missed his son growing up, and the last fifty years of his life. I feel so sorry for Yoko, and the remaining Beatles.
this is my favorite Paul song out of the Beatles. I love the Beatles so much. I miss John, he was such an incredible person with a brilliant soul. This made me so sad.
Even when they're all gone, the Beatles will still be remembered and adored. The Beatles will never die! They were in a class of their own.
They had their arguments at times, some may even say that John and Paul ended up hating each other. They just had their fights like all friends do. Long live John Lennon and George Harrison and long live the Beatles!!!!!!!!!!
thats one of the biggest things i like about them, was they were all best friends and everyone knew that, cuz i got a group of friends and we relate alot like them. They are the best
Paul wrote this for John. Their Moms both died when they were only teenagers. I know how that feels. They cried about losing them with each other. It's so touching.
When I found out what the line "What about the night we cried/because there wasn't any reason left to keep it all inside" meant.
It supposedly refers to a night when John and Paul got into an argument that calmed down and turned into a conversation and they told each other everything, the truth. Which, of course, led to tears.
I hope its true. Of all the damn things in this world, I hope to God that's true.
Also, I agree with the video poster. Early Beatlemania John had a lot more feeling with his mother dieing, his rebellious humor, and such. I think when Yoko came in, she changed the course of his life.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I doubt about the fact Paul Wrote this song for John, He wouldnt have say "I love you" to him, it must have been determinate by someone else but not Paul.
Paul said he wrote the song about John Lennon who he loved very much despite their public feuds. They were life long mates who had issues with each other but the song is a tribute to John. An honest and bittersweet expression of Paul's feelings for his friend and bandmate after his death. "Here Today" is Paul wishing John were still here today.
WHich performance of the song is this? An official release or bootleg concert? I almost choked up when Paul's voice cracked a little when he sings "I love you."
This is an awesome song even if you didn't know the story behind it...but, anyone who knows John and Paul's friendship knows that this is one of the most honest and touching songs in rock history.
:( hmm i can kinda empathise with how paul felt when he wrote this song. None of my friends died or anything but life is forcing us to move on. Communication is strained and tense. People are changing. Sometimes you feel like they're all there and then it feels like theres noone there when you want them the most! Rows that tore me and a few others apart ages ago seem ridiculous in hind sight and we've harmed noone but ourselves with it:(
i´m like impressed about what paul did, I dont want to say who is better if john or paul, but this is an honorable act, especially after john had written how do you sleep?. Both are the greatest rock stars so far, but it could had been nicer if john had written something positive about paul.
I know it's a bit late, but a very very happy birthday to John. Your music will live on forever and you'll always be remembered in my heart (along with George too of course!).
I have never heard this song, and I will tell you I just got through balling my eyes out. I love you John and Paul. I am sorry for the prison we have created for you. I think we are just as scared and lost my friends. Thank you for all of the love you have helped make, just think where we would be without your influences. All you need is love, you were right all along.

mmhh dunno what to think about the song..typical mccartney song I would say, .simple but very nice.I wonder what lennon would have said. The context remembers me of lennon's Julia where he sings about his dead mother. Here I would say you can see the difference between Len.&MCc.John was always the more subtile one.
In Tears now. Never got to go to the big apple and study with John. Lost dream. I remember Ed Sullivan in 1964 as if it were just the other day.Beatles will be forever no matter what. You can count on it.
Brilliant! You hear so much about the acrimony between these two pop/rock icons that sometimes you forget....they were just kids formulating a sound and a cultural revolution that would essentially change the world. Nice to hear Sir Paul speak of his late bandmate so gently amd endearingly. Sweet, but not maudlin. John, I daresay, is pleased....
This is an *intensely* "real" version of this song--sung, felt and conveyed with deep love and meaning. The immediacy of this particular live performance is, in my view, very well suited to the choice of imagery (just wish you hadn't had to cut so abruptly at the end--audience response must have been jarring). It must be hard for Paul to sing this song live. I mean it must be very emotional for him!
