  • By the way "чу" ("chu") is never used nowdays in russian) you can come across it only in old songs)

  • Geez, i'm so tempted to say something bout Ivan Braginski.

  • Comment removed

  • Nobody said it ??

    TETRISSS !!!!

  • Very good song! It is good that it became known through Tetris but also a pity, since such song is connected with computer games, since there are so many good songs in russian folk songs.

  • @Zalley66 indeed, but it can pique interest in people~

  • pouce vert si vous venez grâce a JVC

  • @TecknoPlay ouais ^^

  • "I think it was sung by some guy named Surzhikov" LOOOL yes, Ivan Surzhikov :)

  • When i was about 4 years old i pause tetris and listen to the music. Now, after 15 years, i still like this.

  • TETRIS

  • awesome

  • wait, so "idyot" means "it's her"? i gotta remember that :p

  • @Peachyj06 No, идёт (i-dyo-t) means is. Идиот (i-di-o-t) means idiot. The pronounce is a bit confuse, in идёт you hear something like idot.

  • @drakonimetal so i say it like i-dyo-t? although i wasn't really referring to the word idiot.

  • @Peachyj06 Exactly! If you say it in a slowly way will sound like you want to say "idiot". :)

  • @Peachyj06 no) "идёт" means "He/she is walking/coming") something like that)

  • >Wait, so why is the box not heavy if all she took was a ring?

Because he sold everything to buy her a ring.

  • @Itoyokofan I think thomasbe was right

  • @Itoyokofan No, no, he didn't sell everything. He's still got all the stuff in his box -- it just *feels* light because of how happy he is after his meeting with her and what happened during the meeting. ^^

  • thumbs up if Yahoo brought u here!

  • Wait, so why is the box not heavy if all she took was a ring?

  • @windowsforvista because they just boned and he didn't really care that it was heavy

  • @thomasbe151 Is that implied more in the russian version, or am I just not creative enough to think of that?

  • This is Russia's theme in Hetalia!

  • 5 people failed a game of 1989 Tetris. :P

  • I dun get it...

  • "Listen, its her" is "Chu Idyot." huh.

  • lol, stop with the KGB thing guys, put yourself to day...

  • when i 1st heard the tetris theme im like "this sounds like folk song.." well i heard the brawl version im like "..Russian Folk" so i did some reading and was like "..oh my" and yea >:D haha wow RUssia >:D

  • In soviet russia bricks drop you

  • wow, i would without doubt had thought that "idyot" ment idiot in english lol :Pl

  • BTW, this is not literally a folk song, the authors are well known. This is a 19-century poem by Nikolai Nekrasov (one of Russia's best poets of all time), with music created later by Yakov Prigozhyi.

  • do you know that i m watching your video EVERYDAY !! cheers from Morocco ! long live to Russia..

  • @chocobolvr832

    Wish I could sing...

  • i love this song... when i hear this song always i cry...

  • "...when I see the dark-eyed beauty,/

    Then I'll showcase my goods."

Anyone else find that incredibly dirty?

  • @DarthWobbey Absolutely. Folk music often is.

  • @DarthWobbey lmao !

  • @DarthWobbey perhaps it was meant to be =/ i'll never see tetris in the same way again.........

  • @DarthWobbey funny) but here "goods" means "merchandise"... *or I just didn't get the joke)))

  • @DarthWobbey it is......thy nd up having sex in the fields

  • I'll drink to this

  • i dont think this was translated correctly

  • Chu, Idyot = Listen, it's her.

    I LAUGHT SO HARD.

  • I like the red in your video <3

  • Kinda think of it if you try to link the lyrics with the game it kinda fits....

  • Is it me, or is this song suggestive in places?

  • @thehackedface i agree "showcase my goods" ;)

  • @thehackedface no, it's suggestive.

  • Спасибо I was wondering what were the lyriks&meaning

  • My mouth had a stroke trying to sing this. I love Russian, but its so hard to learn. So many odd pronounciations and such. Especially all the tempo changes in the music.

  • Become one with Russia,da?

  • @gamexmasterxfire kolkolkolkol im already one

  • cool

  • From Russia with ♥

  • in soviet russia, tetris plays you..

  • This guy has an amazing voice! :) I love Russian music.

  • So THAT'S why it's so easy to "sing" Tetris Theme A... It has vocals origins!

  • My grandma could translate better than that!

  • it is my goal to learn this song in Russian.

  • He's gonna showcase his goods when he sees the darkhaired beauty? That lady better watch out .lol

  • We danced to this song in PE, awesome song!

  • This should've been the theme song of Fedor Emelianenko

  • 4 peaple went missing KGB denies any involvement

  • @klootbal 5 pineapple went missing, KGB denies any involvement.

  • @klootbal "They are Fsb now" -Viggo Mortensen At Eastern Promises

  • @klootbal That's probably because there's no such thing as "peaple"

  • @klootbal

KGB closed down since the 90s...

  • @cr9527 kavkaz.org.uk/eng/content/2011/09/21/15161.shtml

  • @efeorh

Doesn't mean its KGB, could've been one of the child organizations, or even just an ex-KGB agent.

  • Goddamn i love Russia. Don´t no why im totally German but their language is fuckin awesome :D

  • @xXKRAMPEXx You think you are totally German but unaware of the fact that your grandmother had sex with Russian in 1945.

  • @Eliteyatsu well we lived in the American sector... not in the russian... so it´s more likely that my grandmother hat sex with a GI ... but who cares ...

  • @ALAPAT1 u got it all wrong.ur mom got sex with me and i won.lol

  • I thought it was Korobushka?

  • @Csp499 I believe Korobushka = 1 peddler, while Korobeiniki = more than one peddler :)

  • @SLisica08 No. More than one korobushka would be korobushki, more than one korobeinik is korobeiniki.

  • @guiltriple haha thanks. I'm not exactly Russian privy, but it was just something I believed was a legit way to explain it. sorry >.>

  • @SLisica08

No, because the "i" we transliterate onto the word is the Russian letter "и" which is used to make words plural. Korobushka means "crate." "Korobeinik" means "peddler." Thus, "Korobushki" means "crates" and "Korobeiniki" means "peddlers."

I have no idea while it has two names, but "peddlers" makes much more sense than "crate."

  • @ZeldaLink239173

The song starts with a line "oh, my crate is full..." (referring to a shallow box or tray full of goods for sale). That's why the song is sometimes called "crates" and not its proper name "peddlers".

  • @ocha1

I know. This song forgot the "moya' though for "my." THis version, anyway -- is it necessary in the song? XD

  • @ZeldaLink239173

I don't know why they left "my" out in the subs. It's definitely present in the Russian version.

If you want to double-check, this song has a wikipedia page (look under "korobeiniki").

  • In soviet russia, music plays you

  • Awesome! now do mega man! lol

  • wanna play tetris -_-

  • So, let me get this straight: The girl had sex with the merchant, in exchange for a lower price. Now, who wins there?

  • 4 people had their screens fill up with blocks.

  • I love the video , my comrade .

  • TheGag96 ur a fkn' fag.

  • A song about prostitution? lol, good job, maker of Tetris.

  • @TheGag96 It's actually about selling a ring to the girl

  • @daftpixel909 it's actually full of innuendo.

  • RUSSIANS FTW :D

  • nice video my russian commerade :)

  • The original sounds so pretty.

  • why does the singer pronounce it "eeh" when it says "uzh"?

  • @ABDACOM Russian is an odd language to speak. A lot of things are said differently then what they are spelled out phonetically.

  • Ι was playing tetris as a kiddo, about 17-18 years ago. for the last 2-3 years, i got interested in folk music. and now, i find this song. thanks a lot for uploading it!

  • Would it be possible to put up the transliterated and Cyrillic lyrics in the same video? I'd like to read both at once.

  • In Soviet Russia, Tetris plays you!

  • maybe tetris is a russian game!? lol

  • @esthirteen it is

  • @esthirteen Yes, it is actually. It was developed in Russia for trauma victims.

  • @esthirteen Yes it is actually, it was created by an Alexei Pazhitnov in the 80s. The guy didn't really make any money off of it until 1996.

  • The rest of the poem that wasn't put into this song is sad.

  • these lyrics do not match the game at all....

  • @elbaser305 Wow, really? I'm hoping a missed an "/sarcasm"

  • great

  • Tetris

  • Surzhikov's recording! :-) one of the versions i like very much! :-)

  • check out my piano improv rendition sometime!

  • Tetris FTW!

  • hmmm, i now want to speak russian...is it fairly easy?

  • @drakeTM1 shiiiiit no. prepare to lose/waste years of your life if you go through with it. i tried, couldn't get through a year of classes. still love the language though. just didn't love learning it.

  • @Usmaman07 all languages significantly different to your own are difficult to learn really. An English speaker will find Dutch is fairly easy to learn (in fact certain phrases are the same in both languages) but would find Arabic considerably more difficult.

  • @drakeTM1 Not really... I'm learning it, and I found it a LIIIIIITLE... tough.

  • In Soviet Russia...

  • @Mountieswordsman13 ... Tetris plays you

  • This song will never get boring. It's too awesome . . . If you're Russian, you'd feel the pride while hearing this. And if you're not, welcome to the family anyway!

  • /watch?v=xe-sSdE9y1s

  • English subs suck ballz ...!

  • English subs suck ballz ...

  • korobeiniki and tetris type a rules ^^

  • Music like this could make anyone feel Russian pride. It must be a communist plot.

  • Russian music is the best.

  • This song is . . . beyond wonderful

  • @ALDabbagh1988

Lets be realistic, this is a shitty song. The 8-bit version is superior.

  • @Memington Maybe thats your opinion,if i thought that was a shitty song I would have clearly stated that it is a shitty song.To me it is wonderfull . . . to you it is shitty.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ( and in the ears for sure )

  • @ALDabbagh1988

    eh, what can I say?

You got your opinions, and I don't understand them.

  • @ALDabbagh1988 I know, I can't stop listening, it's addictive or something.

  • @Kumajirou13 when i bought a copy of tetris for my gameboy, i had to show them my I.D, they said it was an addictive substance...

  • I am the man who arranges the blocks...

  • IVAN BRAGINSKIIII~

    Individual rights.

  • tetris is a russia game created by alesix kojvinov .

  • @mecastix alexey pajitnov upps

  • Tetris <3

  • love Russian folk music!

  • Korobeiniki - the original. Tetris - american easy copy.

  • @Tokarev2009 ypu do know that tetris was made by a russian guy and nitendo is japanese so thats a preety wrong statement

  • @cod5x Korobeiniki - old made by people russian song. Teris A - stupid copy....

  • @cod5x Do you speak Russian?

  • @Tokarev2009 Nyet, nyet, nyet. Korobeiniki--original Russian folksong. Tetris--game with falling blocks designed and programmed by a Russian named Alexey Pajitnov. Tetris Theme A--the music from the Gameboy version of Tetris, an arranged version of Korobeiniki by Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka (a Japanese guy); Hip-san is also currently the president of Creatures Inc., which is responsible for both the Pokemon Card Game and the Mother (Earthbound) series.

  • @Tokarev2009 no Tetris = an japanese copy ;D

  • @Tokarev2009 i cant believe people still think tetris comes from america...

  • @GeneralBaker200 People like who? I've never heard of people who think Tetris is American.

  • @GeneralBaker200 Nah, I thought it was from Japan LOL

  • @VietnameseGirl98 I'm somewhat ashamed... 0_0

  • @Tokarev2009 A worker from nintendo who was Russian brought this game into Tetris. And also tetris is made from nintendo which was japanese.

  • @MrVudii

No, Tetris was made by a Russian guy on a Soviet computer. Nintendo bought the copyright stuff for tetris and kept the folk song that he put with the game. They did add a part to the "Tetris type a" though, which is the middle part that is not heard in this song.

  • @ZeldaLink239173 Alexey Pajitnov's original Tetris did not have music; Korobeiniki or otherwise. The decision to use Russian music in the various ports/conversions was intended to hype up the game's origins - many versions used Tetris' Russian origins as a selling point. (One version was even subtitled 'The Soviet Mind Game)
