Choosing a pet, you always know a sad day will come. An animal, whether dog, cat, or whatever is alive whether with you or not. Why not take it in and give it a full happy life? That's my motivation for having pets. I know they will become my best friend and leave me, but it seems worth it.

Death is so absurd. To see something that once breathed and had a personality cold and lifeless changes you. However, it was sort of infused into me being raised to have the emotions of a rock... I didn't even cry at my grandfather's funeral. I felt bad, but never outwardly showed it.

I lost my golden of 12 years to the same thing.. really hard to say goodbye. Got Shadow when I was in first grade and grew up with him by my side, always happy and so in tune to my feelings, always knew if something was wrong, I was sick or whatever it may be.
