This in return will increase the overall inflation as there would be less activity in terms of business. It was a time of great prosperity and exploration, mistakes were made but they lived on a monetary system kinda like the one we have today, so they worship there money more then anything else. Then we kinda when downhill from there. Especially in the early 1900s.. Then the depression... and now the coming depression.. People will suffer i just hope we dont try to kill each other and try to help one another.

I did.And the end result will be what. A nation state slowly sliding into a 3rd world rate country? The state like all others are not self sufficient, we depend on each other from commerce, transportation, resources, & security.
Texas becoming a nation what will it do? Ask for handout from the US as well as secuirty? Like it's doing with Puerto Rico? Or will it eventaully be obsorbed back to Mexico, something that will become easier?

The US have survived worse, Mexico has survived even worse situation with their economic problems that spanned decades. If they can manage, so can we.

Small countries don't do very well. That's one of the reason European nations negotiated into forming the European Union. For security reasons, as well as for commerce, & transportation. But it looks like it will defunct because they decided to form a socialist style government that stiffled business, compatition, & commerce. Too much, regulations, twelfare & very powerful unions that ask: "Gimme that! Gimme this!" & if they don't get it, organize nation crippling strikes.

It seems the Union in Europe think money rains down from the sky. We as a country have faces worse situation, believe it or not, what we are going through is peanuts. But the problem may be todays population, to wimpy, too whiney! No one wants to accept responsibility. What we are in people like me saw it coming, listen to the news, read Walls Street paper, Money Magazine, it wasn't a secret. Banks were going bankrupt or merging. Those were red flags!

He should've let this banks go under. Like a sinking ship, Bush was trying to plug the holes but the ship is still sinking. He only delayed the inevitable. And yet there’s still hope, one thing we as American is that we are surprisingly robust & very flexible to change. People are waking up so to speak, taking responsibility, learning about the past to learn how previous generation managed at the same time learn about our history. We will wither through this one & our children will be talking about the Great Depression of 2008 & ask how we managed. Not the first time I’ve heard the demise of the US by ass-hole like in RT News wrong.

For now we are still a "hyper" power but I am aware that we can loose the military hardware if the planned military cutbacks are implamented by the Obama administration. It will hurt our military forces for decades to come. Sure we will have some niffty superweapons for a very short war but not enough resources of assets & men for a prolonged war.

Best example where having a superior weapon doesn't guarranty a victory: NAZI German with their superior tanks but short numbers, easily smothered by our inferior but numerically superior Sherman tanks. For every Penzer german tank lost, the US lost 4 Sherman tanks but the German. Worse yet, a simple upgrade by adding a heavier gun to the latter newer models of Sherman tanks easily defeated the superior armour of the German tank.
So let's see what Obama does.

As long as I lived, the US have always been splitting. Since the race riots in the South when Alabama wanted to split from the US. To California & few other states wanted to secede during the Vietnam War.
What happening today is peanuts, I don’t see evidence of the states breaking away other then the very vocal fringe elements pushing for some form of anarchy type of society.

The Statehoood votes does NOT count because how Hawaii became part of the United States is NOT valid under International Law.
If that's the case, then I kinda DISAGREE with his actions believeing that Hawaii will be under Protectrate of Japan and China.

@OverlordShamala. The Statehood elections was RIGGED. Futhermore, as I said, the Statehood votes does NOT count against Hawaii being part of the United States territory in the first place. Hawaii was a U.S. Territory before it was a State. U.S. invaded Hawaii and overthrew its goverment! No one relinquished their claims towards the United States!
Hawaii is NOT American territory much less a U.S. State.
