Hi, Many new field employees in the Electrical Contracting industry go through some type of formal, 4 or 5 year, state or federally approved apprenticeship program. Some don't. There are both union and non-union programs available in most areas. Suggest you call several larger electrical contractors near you, make sure some are union and non-union, and tell them you want to join a reputable company and learn to become an electrician. They'll help steer you.
To be as successful as you can be you're going to have to be a go getter who follows directions. Re-read my initial response, pick up your local phone book and get busy. Be persistent, friendly, and energetic. Good luck!
