@NamelessHermit The mask itself really has no expiration date. But the 'shelf life' is usually 20-30 years. Though many non-recalled masks older than that which are kept in good condition are still usable and effective at protection if the rubber isn't worn out and flabby. Still the rubber could degrade, making it less resistant to some chemical warfare agents, or have microscopic holes, or not make a full seal.

It's the filters that has to be replaced when expired.

Wow, that's fucking rediculous. FUCK Approved gas masks.. I know for a fact GP-5's and OM-10M's are NBC Resistant and WORK, however, I would NOT trust them, they work, and approved gas mask only approves the ones they sell.

most of todays masks like urs is incredibly hard to find cheap cuz of the high price its in right now, no one would want to lose profit off of wasting more money buying the merchandise than earning more money. but hey, its certified, and its the real deal unused mask, ready for protection.

i guess approvedgasmasks,net isnt so bad after all...i guess...i still hate their prices..!!

This style of mask was NEVER used in fire departments. North did not ever make masks approved for firefighting. Speaking of, if you can find a Scott AV-2000 or Scott AV-3000 on ebay for very cheap, BUY IT even if it does not have a filter adapter but it may be possible to find an adapter for cheap.

but yea, try looking for a usm17a1 gas mask. thats what they used in that set.
