This reminds me of the hail storm I experienced at the family's farm outside Little Falls. August 1988, and we had hail the size of golf balls (about like this), but a few miles away, the hail was the size of softballs, and a tornado went through. We actually drove through the damage path of the tornado on our way to dinner in St. Cloud... so I remember being told.

I had the same feeling as I watched the garden get destroyed and the tress were pretty bare looking the next day.
