There are rock singers who display incredible vocal ability, a few being Ronnie James Dio, Steve Perry, Geoff Tate, Lou Gramm, Eric Martin, Jimi Jamison, Mickey Thomas, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Grace Slick...and the list goes on. People who sing the same old soul style are just like parrots, and they lack real creativity. It would be nice to hear more rock style singing on American Idol for a change. ;-)

I think it's unfair that the judges (Randy) compared Chris to Justin Timberlake right off the bat. It was like they set him up, but luckily Chris proved them wrong by placing 5th. I've heard from others who've tried out for the show, there's four rounds of auditions before you can even sing for the judges. Youv'e got to have some drive to fight for your dreams, especially when it comes to this show, because dreams aren't always promised.

Chris deserved to be in the Finale, but with his Donny Hathaway audition, it proves that you can make it far if you're willing to put for the effort.
