Actually, the Second World War was chiefly a Russian/German war. About 50 million people died in the war, half of them where Russian. From 1941 to 1945 about 75-80% of all German armed forces were fighting on the eastern front.
America gets the credit only for defeating Japan. Russia gets the rest of the credits. Sure GB helped, but the role they played was limited.
The British sure did a good job of beating the axies in north africa when they were outnumbered and were against superior weapons and equipment, That played a part only where it made a difference, fact is the British gave the Africa Korps a complete bashing when the AK couldnt put their superior weapons to use
Your comment makes you look dumb, dont make the same mistake again
@RackJacket well 1 thing i know is that the british were a bit better supplyed with water while the germans under the command of the "desert fox" general Rommel used a tactic similar to blitzkrieg he left alot of ground unprotected , dyhadration , supplys and reinforcements hardly cauth up with him not to mantion becouse the fuhrer's order for him to stand and defend where he was (dont remember) without fresh reinforcements he got beaten and there goes the african campaing for the germans
@ShadowVampireDragon That was a problem that troubled both armies, Another testiment to the superior tactics and handlings of the 8th army over the Afrca Corps, The Africa Corps picked a fight they couldnt win, They were fighting against an experienced enemy in the landscape with little or no idea what they were getting into, Stalemate,or the troubles that came with fighting in such a theater, The British were at a disadvantage through most of the campaign, Only these things helped them win it
@1MagicAndMayhem1 for the african front i will be honest i hardly know anything some stuff i heard from my history teacher , readed and watched military history
@RackJacket lol Rommel was undermanned and underequiped. Still held out for so long against the Brits. It's funny how the reality is exactly the opposite of what you wrote. Learn the facts straight idiot.
@Startwindow3 Rommel had just as much supplies and munitions through the better part of the Afica Theater, Only shallow little denialers like you seem to relish on one or two problems and use it as a jusitification
Rommel picked a fight he couldnt win, as did the Command back in Germany, Fighting the British in NA was stupid, they were more experienced, better fighters and at the start went from being at a disadvantage to having it because of this, I suggest YOU read a real history book
@Startwindow3@Startwindow3 Rommel had just as much supplies and munitions through the better part of the Afica Theater, Only shallow little denialers like you seem to relish on one or two problems and use it as a reason

Rommel acutally had inferior forces. For example, when Rommel was checked at the First Battle of El Alamein, the British had a 50% advantage in manpower, 200% advantage in aircraft and 150% advantage in tanks (not to mention the vastly inferior quality of the Italian tanks). While on occasion Rommel had more men, at every stage he had fewer tanks and aircraft, which were more important.
@EEEL123 No, Sorry but your wrong, Having the tanks in the active theater doesnt mean they played apart in a battle, being often miles and miles away, Which would mean all the difference between being able to use them and not, Something you obviously dont understand, Rommel was plagued by incompetant staff time and time again, And sorry, His forces were not made up of mostly Italian armour, The majority of Italys forces were already smashed by the battle of El Alamein
I quote from Basil Liddell Hart's 'History of the Second World War': "While the British armour had been brought up to a total of 160 tanks (of which nearly half were Grants), he [Rommel] had barely 60 German tanks (of which a quarter were light Panzer IIs) and a handful of Italian tanks." This is at the height of Rommel's success, several days prior to the First Battle of El Alamein, not after he was smashed up during the battle.
@1MagicAndMayhem1 And, by the way, even if you were right abut most of the British tanks being away from battle, (and I don't think you are), it would mean that the British could re-equip their forces while Rommel, who rarely received reinforcements from Hitler, had to take his losses and grimace.
@RackJacket That was mostly because Rommel was not commanding the Afrika Crops at the time meaning that the sub par commanders were in control largely contributing to the defeat there.
Germany would be a radiation filled wasteland. Their nuclear program was 2 years behind and the only thing that saved Berlin was the Soviets taking it over.
Russians showed true heroism(even tough pushed brutally by Stalin)
Im not russian but i respect the sacrefices made by these people.
The only reason communisam as a whole is in a bad light is because of Stalin.
You see i was raised in Ex-yugoslavia and can asure you that most of the evil soviet myths are incorrect (I might be wrong about outside ex yugoslavia)
@Zefurion1988 Oh yes? Which Soviet "myths" are incorrect? The ones about show trials and political persecutions? The ones about starving Ukranians to death? Or is it the ones about deportations and gulags? Please don't give me the "communism is good but Stalin was evil shit". Name me ONE communist/socialist country where human rights weren't severely violated. Communism is in a bad light because it is a bad system. Not just because of Stalin, but also because of Tito, Pol Pot, Mao and others.
@FlitkoSLO Yes, but I'm trying to say that it's not because of communism, it's because of people abusing their power. It can happen in capitalistic societies too.
@FlitkoSLO Sure, of Ukrainians, but mass starvation also occurred in China under Mao. And it wasn't the fault of communism. Just stupidity of the government, which was made worse by famine.
@cwjian90 Communism = retarded government. The difference was that the Ukranian famine was deliberate, whereas the Chinese one was a result of a severely retarded government.
@Zefurion1988 Hi, I'm from the US and I've really been interested in the Balkans, why is it that the Croats and Serbs fought each other anyway? I mean to us it doesn't make much sense, Croats and Serbs got along well when they were Yugoslavia. What happened?
@e0o9kii They never got along actually. Its a complicated history so i cant just explain it in a you tube comment, but if you search online im sure you will find some useful information regarding the reasons and such.
@Smilinginmygrave Hi I'm form the US and I've been kinda interested in the Balkans, do the Slovenians hate us Americans and are the Slovenians slavic people?
fuck u man im russian and i take that offensivly we killed our own ppl if they were infidels i kno that stalin did enslace alot of us but that was stalin he was a made man if there was any retreat then u could bet your ass we would shoot u
Yeah, lets stick a moron like you in a Penal Battallion, then see how fair that statement sounds?
Retreat is part of war, not cowardice. Stalin was a tyrant, murdering hundreds of thousands of his own people. (actually, up in the millions I believe). Don;t ever try to defend him or his moronic ideas about "cowardice"
The intro covers the start of the war, hence there being only British, possibly Canadian troops shown. The Yanks didn't join until 41, two years into the hostilities.
