Actually, the Second World War was chiefly a Russian/German war. About 50 million people died in the war, half of them where Russian. From 1941 to 1945 about 75-80% of all German armed forces were fighting on the eastern front.

America gets the credit only for defeating Japan. Russia gets the rest of the credits. Sure GB helped, but the role they played was limited.

The British sure did a good job of beating the axies in north africa when they were outnumbered and were against superior weapons and equipment, That played a part only where it made a difference, fact is the British gave the Africa Korps a complete bashing when the AK couldnt put their superior weapons to use

@RackJacket well 1 thing i know is that the british were a bit better supplyed with water while the germans under the command of the "desert fox" general Rommel used a tactic similar to blitzkrieg he left alot of ground unprotected , dyhadration , supplys and reinforcements hardly cauth up with him not to mantion becouse the fuhrer's order for him to stand and defend where he was (dont remember) without fresh reinforcements he got beaten and there goes the african campaing for the germans

@ShadowVampireDragon That was a problem that troubled both armies, Another testiment to the superior tactics and handlings of the 8th army over the Afrca Corps, The Africa Corps picked a fight they couldnt win, They were fighting against an experienced enemy in the landscape with little or no idea what they were getting into, Stalemate,or the troubles that came with fighting in such a theater, The British were at a disadvantage through most of the campaign, Only these things helped them win it

Rommel acutally had inferior forces. For example, when Rommel was checked at the First Battle of El Alamein, the British had a 50% advantage in manpower, 200% advantage in aircraft and 150% advantage in tanks (not to mention the vastly inferior quality of the Italian tanks). While on occasion Rommel had more men, at every stage he had fewer tanks and aircraft, which were more important.

@EEEL123 No, Sorry but your wrong, Having the tanks in the active theater doesnt mean they played apart in a battle, being often miles and miles away, Which would mean all the difference between being able to use them and not, Something you obviously dont understand, Rommel was plagued by incompetant staff time and time again, And sorry, His forces were not made up of mostly Italian armour, The majority of Italys forces were already smashed by the battle of El Alamein

I quote from Basil Liddell Hart's 'History of the Second World War': "While the British armour had been brought up to a total of 160 tanks (of which nearly half were Grants), he [Rommel] had barely 60 German tanks (of which a quarter were light Panzer IIs) and a handful of Italian tanks." This is at the height of Rommel's success, several days prior to the First Battle of El Alamein, not after he was smashed up during the battle.

The intro covers the start of the war, hence there being only British, possibly Canadian troops shown. The Yanks didn't join until 41, two years into the hostilities.
