  • I love these videos. You are awesome, so creative, so lovely! Thank you!

  • Why is the Government in India allowing Cows to me mistreated. I'm sure these Bhanhhis are not Indian Bhanghis. They will not allow the cows to be treated this way. These American Bhanghis use donated money to buy the cows and disrespect them. Who gave them money to buy cows. They should be sentenced to death to treat cows this way. What are they trying to prove by their video. I'm a Brahman & I'll speak against it. This Suchandrakanta will lie a very short life. I give my Brahman Shrap to him.

  • Who are these people? They are disrespecting these cows. Two people sitting together and squeezing all four teats tothher. I d not know who these stupid idiots did. The milk was coming out like it was a water tap. That is now how a cow is supposed to be treated. If two people sit together to milk a cow only two teats should be pulled and released. These people were keeping all four teats pulled together until the cow was milked. That is a sin. That is a Bhanghi way of milking.

  • Great multi-cultural video, although I don't think you're painting a fair picture when you say, "The wonderful thing about cows is, they have enough milk to share."

Sure, biologically they have a wealth of milk compared to other organisms. But isn't another reason for milk's pervasiveness in our supermarkets simply the short-term, unethical industrial model of production?

You showed a few photos of cows in spaces that are the antithesis of open pastures and I wonder if you can speak to that?

  • For your question about cows having enough. Well I milk a "beef" cow. She's definitely a family cow and not a good commercial cow, because she gives less. But half a gallon a day is good enough for me, especially when it is so thick and creamy. Her calf has long been weaned and she won't give him milk. She comes running at milking time and moos until we come. She has been giving milk for a year and we don't plan on drying her up or getting her pregnant.

  • Our barn is a small muddy cowdungy place, I must admit personally. But the cows can come or go as they please. We are always shoveling the dung out to use on the garden, but they make at least 6 gallons a day each. Anyways, the point is they come because they want to. They love getting brushed and scratched and they like the alfalfa we give them. Our one cow is 17 years old, and she will not stop giving milk. (4 cups) She had one calf about 15 years ago and she really likes giving milk.

  • Ekadasi, is her name and her milk bags are saggy and shrivelled, but she screams if we don't milk the 4 cups out. We tried to stop a few times but then she became sick. We were tired of milking her so we put our year old bull with her and she gradually got him to nurse. Then he became sick.....so we are back to milking 4 cups from our Grandma cow.

  • She went up to half a gallon.

  • Those people that dry their cow up when they are giving 4 or more gallons a day so that they can breed them again are CRAZY! The only reason they do that is to get more meat for their money. If we did that we would be over run with too many cows! But they like doing it because they kill the babies and eventually kill the mother who gives them milk so they need a replacement mother. Sick people. It makes me so mad. >:-( Thank you for your nice comment btw.

  • hey suchandra i like your videos too much and u have beautiful cows can u upload more videos like this

  • Thank you! Yes, I hope to upload many more. I am also making a part 4 to this fountain of youth show :-) I'm so glad you like my works....Thank you for your nice comment!

  • great work. thanks for this video

  • You're welcome!

  • India has from Snow to desert climates and the author of the Veda, actually lived in the Himalaya. Pakistan used to be part of India also. So even though most people see that India is mostly tropical, there is surely an amazing array of life there. According to Ayurved, each person is different than the other, (including family members). They also have medicine for winter, summer, and rainy times etc! A GOOD Ayurvedic doctor, is quite a gem!! (I have personal experience of their amazing skill)

  • I am well aware that different types of milk are good for different types of people. The majority of people though, choose cows milk as do the Vedic scripture. Whoever believes in Ayurveda can accept that. God made different types of milk for everyone, (as we can see in this video)

  • For those who are allergic to milk, Buffalo and Sheep milk are the very worst choices, because they are higher in lactose and casein! Goat is very good for people who have milk allergies. I will discuss all these points about the health benefits of milk in another chapter of "The fountain of Youth".

  • One thing you said that wasn't correct was that water buffalo milk "being higher in fat will make people fat." That isn't true and in fact the exact opposite might be true. And you said the fat would be harder to digest. That would be true for some people while it would be the opposite for others.

  • Yes, the exact opposite MIGHT be true, however Ayurved says that if a person is not doing much physical labor, then Buffalo milk will make you fat. Analysis of Buffalo milk has shown that they have almost twice the fat and solids as other animals. That is why people prefer it in their cup of tea!

  • Once again, eating *fat* does not make humans *fat*. Sugar makes humans fat. Ayuveda might work for people living in the tropics but it does work as well for westerners.

  • Ayurved does not say that "Because Buffalo milk is higer in fat, therefore it makes one fat." Ayurved is a science of health that deals with the individual based on the nature of the individual. It is not based on a tropical medicine. India has every climate of the world. But if I did not refer to Ayurved, then I could say from my own experience, that I see very fat people who drink Buffalo milk in India.

  • India is mostly semi-tropical to tropical, with very long growing season. That same buffalo milk would have very different effects on people other climates. When Tibetans fled south to India to escape the Chinese, they got very sick using their traditional Tibetan medicine cause it didn't work as well in a warmer climate.

  • I agree! Different medicines work in different climates! There are entirely different bacteria in different places as well. New climates, and foreign bacteria are difficult to adjust to. That's why people get sick! Buffalo milk being higher in protein, fat and lactose, (and calories) is very good for some, and not others. I agree that natural fats don't make you fat. Buffalo milk DOES have twice the fat, but if a person switched from mcdonalds to buffalo milk, I am sure they would lose weight!

  • That's because McDonald's is mostly carbs and sugar with very little protein. It's essentially a carb/protein ratio one would see in tropical countries. Tropical people do better with the carbs and sugar. Whereas an American would do better eating the buffalo milk than the fast food.

  • Well I am American but I live in a tropical place called Hawaii. I prefer cows milk as it is light, and not as greasy. I am also a chubby person. The milk that I drink from my own cow is VERY CREAMY and Sweet and that is good enough for me. I don't like Buffalo milk because it's taste resembles the smell of a Buffalo. The lactose in milk is actually sugar, (btw) And Buffalo milk is high in sugar, proteins and fats.

  • I'm aware lactose is sugar. But because it's taking together and bound with the fat and protein in the milk it won't be the same as eating a mango which is sugar not bound by anything and you'll will wear that sugar in the form of fat. You say that you're chubby? That's because, like most Americans, you're eating the wrong fuel combination for your body.

  • Well sorry but you'll never convince me to switch from Cows milk to Buffalo milk. I am chubby because I chose to be :-) Why don't you like cows milk? Do you own Buffaloes or something? I eat almost 99% differently than most Americans btw. Even different than most lacto vegetarians. :-)

  • btw:I don't hate Buffalo milk, in fact, I think it is nice, but just not as nice as cows milk, (that's just my personal opinion.) I adore cows personalities, and beauty. I also believe in Ayurveda. Since I do mostly sedentary brain work, Ayurveda recommends me to drink cows milk, rather than Buffalo.

  • When we go from tropical Hawaii to India, which are two places with the same climate, we still get sick in India, because there are so many people and different strong kinds of bacteria than there are in Hawaii.

  • I actually asked your sister this in an email - why cows milk and not goats or other milk. So, now it is answered, thank you! Hare Krishna.

    Namaste, Glenda

  • I am glad to be of service to you Glenda! Namaste!
