  • just mesmerising

  • The greatest song ever, by the greatest singer ever.

  • This song is a prime example of Jeff's beautiful falsetto.

  • Beautiful images that suits the music very well. Thank you :)

  • the voice of an angel

  • Great

  • Oh gods, just happened on this and absolutely adore it. How could I not? It'd be madness not to fall happily into this. Thank you for sharing it. You're the best!

  • When I got this album and put it into my itunes, it was actually in the wrong order, but it was the order it grew upon me. Didn't even realize it, but it was in alphabetical order. I tried listening to the album in it's 'correct' order, but it doesn't work for me.

Try it! This song opens up the album, beautifully - a less 'thrashy' beginning Works so well. Thank you Jeff Buckley.

  • marilyn monroe video brought me here - sublime

  • @georgethewondermutt Same with me. I've been a fan of Jeff Buckley since I was little, and I missed this song.

  • thank u to be able to touch ours sleeping souls Jeff,we miss u .

Peace to u my dream brother

  • beautiful

  • For all of you who say you've never heard a man sing so high; I suggest you have a listen to the equally late and even greater Billy MacKenzie. You could perhaps start with what might well be the highest note Billy ever recorded; "A girl named Property" by The Associates. Btw, this is a stunning vocal performance from Jeff Buckley. Billy would have been proud of him.

  • beautiful

  • meravigliosa.

  • When I first heard this, I thought it was a woman singing.

    Jeff Buckley is amazing!

  • Jeff, you left us too early, i miss your beauty my friend,..........

  • I always felt this song showed the scope of how amazing and versatile he really was.... so beautiful

  • so pure

  • amazingly pure.. so beautiful. Moves me to tears every time I hear it.

  • awesome!

  • This song is cocaine. It draws us in and keeps us from everything...

Without question his loss is staggering, abolutely maddeing to swim in that nasty, shit filled river....

  • @somaliCABdriver I think you're confusing cocaine with heroin!

  • For those of you who don't know, this was written by composer Benjamin Britten, who also wrote an opera for A Midsummer Night's Dream, which is unearthly beautiful in parts. There is a particular scene near the end where a chorus of fairy maidens sing... holy awesome.

  • that last note is absolutely and totally amazing

  • I dig.

  • Timeless perfection and pure beauty...one can only imagine and lament the songs we were never to hear...RIP JB

  • This makes me cry every time I hear it. Definitely one of the most heartfelt songs ever to be sung.

  • Lol... you wouldnt be able to tell if its Jeff Beckley or a woman. Its all falsetto reinforced with headvoice...its so LOVELY...even men can have beautiful voices, falsetto is an octave high in our usual voices(men) so its safe to say, when perfected, you see what voice you might have as the opposite sex...

  • is this the original viedoclip of this song?

  • Haha I'm complimented but no

  • this is amazing

  • I love it so muchly!

  • This song never fails to make me cry.

    Only the great die young...

  • One of my top ten original YouTube videos...thanks Rohan from Ronan

  • Thank you for sharing this vid with me !

  • Such beutiful, incredable... touching music.

when i first brought the grace album i didnt pay much attention to this song because i was wrapped up in the others. ( such as grace, hallilujah and lover you should've come over ) Now realising this song is so insightful and i love it so much. he should of done this on the Sin e CD too. jeff's music has made me so happy. RIP you angel

  • Jeff AND Tim Buckley were just so incredibly creative ,soulful singers (and writers) that

it`s wonderful if Jeff`s having a hit now?

    In Britain? Really?

  • ....!....

  • never heard a dude hit that high of a note man i love jeff hey if you like try lylac wine

  • what a voice! Jeff's range is amazing and his tone is out of this world!!! (The last two minutes of Grace is the best vocals i have ever heard!!!!)

  • I do wonder, then, if you've heard his rendition of Van Morrison's Sweet Thing? If you haven't, it's easily his best cover. The vocals in the last minute of it are unparalleled.

  • Grace the Album, or Grace the Song?

Oh.. just took a listen to the last 2 minutes of both. I love the last song on the album, Dream Brother, especially the final poignant phrase, but there's no doubt in my mind now you're talking about the SONG "Grace" having listened to it again. Wow... I thought I knew every note, word and breath of this album, and yet I still discover amazing moments in it. THANKS for your comment!!! Now I need to go and wipe a tear.

  • can someone tell me where i can download this song need it for a trailer with a Dying part!

  • The falcon had bourne my mate away...

  • It's Jeff Buckley. He's a dude.

  • go away

  • My Grandmother died at 98 years old on Monday. I can not be at the services as I will be unfortunately out of the country. The recording of Jeff singing the 'Corpus Christi Carol' will be at her burial. Thank you Jeff for singing like an angel. You will meet her in Heaven.

    Thank you, thank you.

  • xxx

  • thank you emmalane247, xxx

  • this video is the interior peace!

  • hey, i live in corpus:)

  • Just lovely--your subtle imagery enhance the experience of this exquisite performance.

  • totally unique

  • this is heaven. literally. i dare anyone to try and prove otherwise.

  • hahahahahahah owned that was so funny

  • naw son, i means what i saids

  • thankyou :)

  • Beautifull, mooi.

  • This is sublime.

  • Actually, Jeff died on Corpus Christi day...

If you like that song, you should try to listen to his live version of "Dido's lament" (that he did at the Meltdown Festival in 1995).

  • that's interesting. i did search 'dido's lament' on utube and listened to a few renditions. i can only imagine that jb's interpretation would be spectacular. i'll start looking for it.

  • once again, absolutely exquisite!

  • Hmm.... somebody I know might know you.

Pretty cool video BTW. Love, love, love the song; it makes me imagine Jeff was a woman.

  • You made a really good video, here!

Per Wiki the carol is a Middle English hymm from the 15th century.

Just a little bit of it was used in the 70's movie, The Wicker Man; a very cool, strange, horror movie with a lot of music. It had a religious theme of a Christian versus Pagans, but neither side comes off well. Lovely music.

  • i had read that this was something else!! and, it is! if i hadn't just been combing google for an obit on jeff's dad, i wouldn't have come across this absolute treasure. keith oberman had posted corpus christi carol with jeff. is it possible that you only have three posts because the category is listed as "news and politics?" and not "music?" i don't really know how youtube works. i feel rather certain you'd have a lot of posts if people knew it was available. maybe, i dunno.

  • class!

  • thanks. seeing as this is my video im most proud of, i only have 3 comments. ah well. 17 favorites though.

  • @rohan316 68,500 views though.

  • Well the words of that song are not by Beckley; it's an ancient song.

  • prettiful <3

was the sky shots filmed from you house?

  • yep
