I live in Australia, and we mostly drive unfortunatly, only around 1% of transport is by bike. I have 2 bikes, 1 for long trips, and 1 more robust bike I use to go to the shops and tow a trailer..

And about the helmets .. there are plenty of bad drivers in AMS but only in the USA are people so worried about these things
