I've just ordered a 200 - can't wait for it to arrive. Having test driven the cup version (went for the standard 200 - needed a few creature comforts!) I cant totally agree that it's one helluva machine. The neighbours are already checking their car insurance to see if they're covered to drive it too...

The 197 is brilliant, and although I've never driven a Williams, I doubt the 197 is anywhere near as much fun as it. I have a 182 now, albeit with a few tweaks, but I have friends with Trophys, 197s and 182s and the 182 is a lot more involving to drive than the 197. And quicker in a straight line too. However, for driver involvement, none of them can hold a candle to my old 106 GTI. Now that was a fun car!

Tiff beats May, Hammond and Clarkson hands down as a driver. He doesn't waffle on about bullshit all the time, he just drives a car and gives highly accurate and useful feedback. No one on top gear gives this information, they just tell you if its as fast as a rocket or as slow as a turtle. You might smile at that synopsis but it's useless if you actually want to buy a car. Thusly 5th gear is always good to watch so stop your pissing and moaning about it in the comments you bloody fools.

How can you say Renault is the best? Poor build quality and unreliable in the main and have you seen how hard it is to change a headlight bulb on the new megane?

What i would say tho having got a clio 172 is that you will struggle to find a cheaper car which is as much fun as the little clio and to be honest there isnt another car out there for less than 10k that i would rather have! (except for a 182 obviously)

@mr2gti driven a williams but not a 1.9,i driven a 1,6,both fun cars but clios willy acceleration advantage leaves the 1,6 for dead,1.9 has about 25 hp more and i think it could not be as fast in both twisty/straight roads as the williams. A 205 GTI with a T16 conversion thats what i call a bomb :)
