This wind turbine is mounted on a tower in Robin Wilson back yard in the Mission District in San Francisco. it looks like it is on the roof but it is not
This wind turbine produces 50% of the houses energy with the other half sustained through solar panels. Complete with indoor pool and spa and build with recyclable materials, this house is amazing!
Lousy story bout the Skystream...hope they fix that up. I'll tell you something, it doesn't look like a particularly windy day in SF...and there are many. And the Mission isn't a windy area...the least windy in SF. And that thing is GOING.
Our Skystream broke after only 2 months use & Southwest Wind Power has done nothing for over a month now. We contacted them immediately & tech support said that the guts of the turbine would need replaced and they would ship parts immediately. We believed that they would overnight parts and have us fixed in a week, 5 weeks later, nothing. I have been a huge supporter of this product, but I can no long tell people to purchase it. I posted a video on my profile of the whole story.
