Nick Fury's character was originally written as an african american. then they made him white. THEEEEEN he was RE-WRITTEN again as ultimate nick fury, in which he appeared,again, as an african american.

So it looks like the Marvel movie universe is based off of the Ultimate universe. Samuel Jackson is a good Nick Fury but I would like for them to have a White Nick Fury. I don't hate Samuel Jackson its just that I would like it to be the original Nick Fury. they wanted to have samuel jackson as nick fury because the ultimate nick fury, the black one was designed after him. he gave marvel permission to have the ultimate version look like him and so they decided to just have the nick fury in the movie black so that samuel jackson could play it. it's not really "ulitimate" nick fury they just wanted samuel jackson to play the part.
